IBM gets sued by SCO

Might have posted this before, can't find it though, so probably not.

Anyways, hope IBM wins. SCO has begun to bastardize their version of linux.
They also have made tons of these lawsuits, including one against MS when they were named Caldera.

Oh well, IBM has deep pockets, and a lot of IP themselves, so they may be able to countersue.

Oh, the lawyer is the same one who sued MS in the DOJ case, and we all know what happened.

"SCO claims that Linux wasn't a viable competitor until IBM started supporting Linux and assigning its programmers to improving it,"

There are a number of people who are viewing this as one of the dying gasps of SCO. They've been in decline for a long time.

Interesting thing is that they sell a version of Linux (This company is merely Caldera renamed to SCO, after aquiring SCO a while ago).

They have a habit of aquiring IP, then suing over it. SysV wasn't even developed by them. They got it from Novell, which got it from AT&T. They also sued MS over DR-DOS, which was aquired from Digital Research.
