Hmm...good point. I'll bring that up in the Doc, and probably post what I worked up.

Blame spending too much time watching recordings of Santorum's campaign, but back-and-froth's only one letter away from being awfully off-color.
That aside, it's good advice. I'll get something written and throw it up after Skywalker's opening.

And there we go, the opening is up. We can still use the Google-doc for discussion though. That way we don't have to clog our PM inbox's.

Re: SDNW5 Discussion Thread I
I do have the pirate story for around that region I've been working on too, I can try and push that through as well I guess?
This odyssey, this, exodus. Do we journey toward the promised land, or into the valley of the kings? Three decades ago I envisioned a new future for our species, and now that we are on the brink of realizing my dream, I feel only solitude, and regret. Has my entire life's work been a fool's crusade? Have I led my people into this desert, only to die?

Re: SDNW5 Discussion Thread I
Actually, I can even tie it in because I have some freigthers heading to the station! Perfect, should be up by the end of the week (Sorry I'm a slow writer).

To everyone who is waiting on me to do something: sorry, my mom came in for a visit on Wednesday and left on Sunday and I've had work since. I'll try to get back into the thick of things this week.

Behold! Giant Spider Space Pirates!
Will the deligates at the station be able to stop arguing long enough to take them down? Only time will tell!

Re: SDNW5 Discussion Thread I
So...Giant Spider Space Pirates...
GENIUS!!
Seriously, that is an inventive idea, which is what we need. I think they might have competition from the VIKINGS though, since they would not like that many people gathering in one spot. Speaking of the VIKINGS...I'm working on another post for them, and it should be up soon. Hopefully...

Re: SDNW5 Discussion Thread I
I, personally, am looking forward to when the Giant Spider Pirates decide to raid some Space Crab space-trucks. It will be a Battle of The Space Arthropods, one of truly epic proportions!
Which means that the Cernans will be sure to attempt to televise the event on state-run news stations.
Private ones are welcome to try but will have to bring their own escort and run the risk of being caught in the crossfire.

We just need a Hyperwave transmitter to inform them that Dogar and Kazon believe they should now become hippies.

Yeah. I've been busy lately, so my chances to write stuff has been few. I pop in every now and then to see what's going on. Sometimes I say stuff.

Oh come on, that was like 93% a joke.
Besides, I'm giving Vindicator to someone else anyway.

I know mate! By the way, I've been feeling better, so hopefully you'll see something this week!
Re: SDNW5 Discussion Thread I
Well, I've been working on something and I think it's nearly ready for posting... unfortunately, it's in a notebook I keep at work and I keep forgetting to bring it back home.
Glad you're feeling better, KhorneFlakes. Also, Vindicator?

Re: SDNW5 Discussion Thread I
Should the name Vindicator ring a bell? Like the name Datton? Missing things from SDNW4 gets annoying sometimes.
And shame on you leaving your notebook at work Esquire!

Re: SDNW5 Discussion Thread I
Star Control 2 reference.
I'd already decided that one of the original six spinal-beam ships of the old Stellar Patrol was named Vindicator, and that is being recycled 'today' as the class name of the first generation of heavy dreadnoughts to use the Mark Fifteen ion cannon.
They're like the Auroras, with six beamlines instead of four, a bowplate that extends to cover the engine pods, some turret beams to cover the flanks, and no AI. I'll detail that more when I put up a construction list- haven't got round to it yet, been quite busy. When I do, I invite others to declare construction too. If they want.

Re: SDNW5 Discussion Thread I
All has become clear. I'm afraid I don't remember - did we decide how construction budgets work? Is it just 'Oh, this year the Star Fleet gets 5% of the total government budget for new construction/upgrades, distributed like so," or is it more complicated?

There should be a rules list set up, if I remember correctly anyway.
