The World War II Eighth Infantry Division (Pathfinders), just because my grandfather was in that unit in Neurengamme. Don't have pictures, but it's a blue shield with a white 8 and a gold arrow going up through the center of the 8. There probably are pics somewhere, I'm just too tired from moving back into my dorm to hunt for them right now.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

I almost hate to admit this, because the people who wore the uniform had the most evil, fucked up ideology, but I always loved the appearance of the Waffen SS uniforms. It's a great looking uniform, and the death's head emblem, SS runes, and collar rank insignia are all sharp looking as well. Even the swastika, purely on aesthetics, is a nice-looking emblem. Pity the Nazis have made it pretty much impossible for anyone ever to use it again.
The best uniform I've ever seen is the modern parade dress of Soviet/ Russian paratroopers. It looks cool, yet not sinister.
As for badge- can't decide.

The Nazis had THE uniforms of history. If there's one thing you can't fault them on, it's how to dress.Perinquus wrote:I almost hate to admit this, because the people who wore the uniform had the most evil, fucked up ideology, but I always loved the appearance of the Waffen SS uniforms. Some of the UVF and UDA uniforms and badges are very well designed. Here are a few examples

I don't believe the emblems of terrorist paramilitary organizations count as military emblems. I'm damn sure most soldiers (myself included) wouldn't think so.Darth Pounder wrote:Some of the UVF and UDA uniforms and badges are very well designed. Here are a few examples

I've never been impressed by the Nazi uniforms. I'm probably a minority here, but I always thought they looked awful.Admiral Valdemar wrote:The Nazis had THE uniforms of history. Loyalist or Nationlist, they are as bad as each other in that they are terrorist organisations that kill indiscriminantly. Neither of the organisations are military, and neither of them deserves to be on this thread.Ted wrote:It's not like he posted PIRA insignia.Rob Wilson wrote:Get that shit, the fuck off here NOW!Darth Pounder wrote:Some of the UVF and UDA uniforms and badges are very well designed. I know a lot of Military guys on the board are less than impressed with those images.

True, but only the IRA and PIRA have been declared terrorist organizations.Rob Wilson wrote:Loyalist or Nationlist, they are as bad as each other in that they are terrorist organisations that kill indiscriminantly. The UVF is a proscribed organization. In April 1974 Merlyn Rees, then Secretary of Sate for Northern Ireland, removed the proscription on the UVF (making it a legal organisation) in an attempt to encourage it to move towards constitutional politics. However the UVF did not give up it's bloody handed ways, and a year later carried out a series of further terrorist attacks, killing a number of civilians, and was once again proscribed.Ted wrote:True, but only the IRA and PIRA have been declared terrorist organizations.Rob Wilson wrote:Loyalist or Nationlist, they are as bad as each other in that they are terrorist organisations that kill indiscriminantly. It is a terrorist organization. It's emblems do not belong here.
