"me love you long time" comedian gets punched on stage

So this guy gets up on stage, puts on some chop suey specs, and starts harassing the Asians in the audience. I don't know anything about this so-called comedian Brett Eidman, but based on this one clip -- I'm not even entirely sure it's real -- he looks like an unfunny hack asshole who got what was coming to him: Comedian gets attacked on stage.

I respect comedians, and the guts it takes to grind it out on stage like that. But people, if someone ever pulls that "Me so horny, me love you long time" shit on you, they need to be called out -- whether they're on stage or the street. However, I don't necessarily recommend punching a fool in the face.

Figured what with the other "comedian does x" threads, another wouldn't hurt. For starters, this guy was bombing horribly with dated and unfunny "my wife won't give me blowjobs" jokes, then apparently decided to go with the old reliable: make fun of specific asians sitting in the audience. He puts on some "chop suey" glasses and targets an asian man in the audience, calling him a loser in a phony asian accent, making race-related comments. Then he targets the guy's date, and by the time he gets to "me love you long time," the man simply stands up and punches him, then takes him down and hits him some more.

While I'm not really ever "in favor" of violence (I generally approve of it only begrudgingly when all other solutions have failed), this comedian kinda had it coming.

The reaction of the guy holding the camera and the crowd in general disappoints me, though. "Oh, come on," said like "Aww, man, that overly-sensitive asian man is ruining our fun evening laughing half-heartedly at racist and sexist jokes!"

On one hand, a comedian's job is provoke laughter -usually by shocking, surprising or offending people. If you're sensitive to that, stay the fuck out of comedy clubs.

On the other hand, this "comedian" went beyond trying to shock the audience for a laugh and was actively badgering that woman and invading her space in front of her boyfriend. In an environment where alcohol and testosterone are on tap this kind of asshole behavior has consequences.

It didn't help that the guy was lame and the only funny thing in the video was him getting bitched by the angry boyfriend.

Seems real to me. I think that the comedian's people reading skills need to be improved.

Was the dumbshit who punched the other dumbshit arrested? If not, why? The proper course of action is to leave, demand your money back, and bitch enough to the theatre owner so this assclown doesn't get to perform his unfinny shtick there anymore. Not to assault someone. Even if they have it coming.

Yeah, you could tell just by looking at her that the woman wanted no part in this. If the comedian couldn't, he's absolutely clueless.

I'd have more respect for him if he saw it as just an attempt to entertain people gone horribly wrong. If sexually harassing a woman and insulting her SO is his idea of "expressing himself", he's an ass.

This is hardly news: you don't insult your audience. A comedian can make fun of them, sure, but you don't go right down to personal insults.

This is one of the first rules any showperson with half a brain knows instinctively. If this guy ignored this obvious rule, he merely got what was coming to him. Yeah, it was assault legally, but seriously ,what did he expect? That he can get away by insulting someone to their face?
