That's exactly what they said. At no point the Church considered that this is not a crime against faith. In fact, Church members have been witnesses for the prosecution and the whole case was built upon blasphemy-like accusations of desecration, religious insults with the motive of religious hatred and so on.

Putin was sincere, you know, they got 2 years behind bars instead of seven the prosecution was insisting on, hahahaha. So you see how merciful he is? Merciful as the Lord God, I may say. There you go. Like in the Sodom and Gomorrah story you know, God just killed Lot's wife when he could actually have killed the entire family cause she looked back.

Damn, didn't know that. Is the Orthodox Church pretty much hand in hand with Putin?
El Moose Monstero: That would be the winning song at Eurovision. I still say the Moldovans were more fun. And that one about the Apricot Tree.
That said...it is growing on me.
Thanas: It is one of those songs that kinda get stuck in your head so if you hear it several times, you actually grow to like it.
General Zod: It's the musical version of Stockholm syndrome.

Yup. Instead of a dangerous mix of totalitarian communism, there's now a dangerous mix of nationalism and orthodox religion.
It's quite perverse really. The Russian regime does nothing to stop the massacres in Syria, even actively using their veto to prevent any interference. In contrast, peaceful protestors get severely punished by work camp.

Technically why should Russia do something to stop massacres in Syria? Powers which are large enough for imperialist influence do not care about civil conflicts inside their client states. The US never cared about massacres inside or outside perpetrated by their client states (Haiti, Guatemala, Indonesia, Chile, Iraq, Pakistan etc. the list is quite extensive) either, not that it suddenly started now.
I fear that appealing to morality is the last thing you can do when you're talking about government officials.
