That deputy lied and it was caught on camera. His career in law enforcement is over and that is a good thing.

You'd hope so, but this is the same state where a cop pulled out his gun and failed to identify himself as police before making commands at a traffic stop, followed with charging the guy with felony wiretapping for recording the incident and putting it up on youtube. Oh, and also the same departmentdid a no knock raid on a Mayor's house, shot the dogs, and said they did everything correctly.

The department knew he was lying, and had seen the tapes 2 days after the arrest, and yet the kid still spent 4 months in jail.

Neither of those examples involve officers lying so I'm not sure how you draw the connection.
