But more importantly, what was the final drinks tally?
Lets review
Mr Bean wrote:In Round 2 of the debate drinking game the rules are as follows
We all wrote things down and put them in a box, we all pick two words to drink to and at the end one additional word we all drink to
The players are for JO, K, A and I (Someone new and missing a few)
Our universal drinking word is Immigration
JO has Workers and Entitlements
K has Job Creators and Benghazi
A has Tax Cuts and Pre-existing conditions
I have Deficit and Infrastructure
Zero immigration drinks
JO has 2 drinks and wins the drinking game for being still legally sober
K bowed out after 8 drinks thanks to Benghazi
A had 11 drinks and is currently on my porch
I had 5 drinks and feel barely buzzed.

As online polls are A) Not scientifically controlled and B) Infested with mouth-breathers, you shouldn't count them too strongly. As expected, they'll be shampooing Ryan out of the carpet for weeks. Of course, the talking heads are calling this a "draw," or even a slight Ryan victory ... because; while Biden was quite active, he is perceived as a "bully," a "jerk," and he smiled excessively, coming off as a smug asshole. Ryan's calmer demeanor in the face of a liberal attack dog is seen as being more "presidential," and Ryan supposedly had facts and figures that Biden supposedly didn't have a counter to. And, compared to the Evil Liberal Attack Dog, Ryan scored points in "likeability," especially since he didn't fold up like cheap tent.
So, the corporate media's spin is going to be "It's a draw, but Ryan had the edge."

Double standards, much? Romney talking over Obama is perceived as strength, but when Biden lays the verbal smack down, it's bullying?

Then one of de Harclay's pikemen, concealed beneath the bridge, thrust upwards between the planks and skewered the Earl of Hereford through the anus, twisting the head of the iron pike into his intestines. His dying screams turned the advance into a panic."'
That was not a debate. That was a grown man beating a baby seal with a tire iron for ninety minutes. I'm surprised Ryan could still walk once it was over.
So, of course, the news will "forget" about it by Saturday...

You see, when I look at that, I go 'liberal media? What liberal media?'
Figured I'd just check in on whoever the media reported as the "winner," like a sports game I didn't care to watch. I got turned off big time after last week's debate, when Obama was portrayed as having been schooled because he didn't say the words "Constitution" and "military" while refusing to name magical loopholes that would somehow offset multitrillion dollar tax cuts. All the media wants to do is judge the candidates' styles and how they appeal to the lowest common denominator. Not interested, except for the practical results in the polls.
And just like last week, the Republicans are perceived as having won, albeit by a much smaller margin this time around. Not good. The latest polls show Romeny opening up a 7 point lead in Florida, where Obama just recently had the advantage. Obama needs to step up big next week.

Who's perceiving that as a Republican win other than Fox news? Biden made him look like a petulant child who had no fucking idea what he was talking about, and couldn't defend a single point when called on.
CNN wrote:CNN/ORC poll: 48% of registered voters watching debate say Ryan won. 44% say Biden won. Sampling error is +/- 5%.
Looks like a slight Ryan win, though it's within the sampling error. Definitely not the strong Biden victory that people here saw it as.
These debates are all for show. It's about showing off your personality to the stupid masses; the people pretty much don't give a damn about the arguments being made. As I pointed out last week, CNN's test audience tracking maxed out for an extended period when Romney spoke up about the big copy of the Constitution behind him before checking off every key word ("middle class," "military," "freedom") in quick succession. Few people saw it as a red flag when he blatantly refused to name the tax loopholes that he would close to supposedly make his policies revenue-neutral.
Romney made an impression early on, and apparently the Democrats are still playing catch up in many people's minds.

I remind everyone around here to try and avoid confirmation bias, but of the limited parts of the debates that I've seen, it probably boils down to the smile that Biden had when Ryan was talking. Biden's smile seemed to take on an "I've got you now!" look to it, while Romney avoided that in the Presidential debate.
"I believe in the future. It is wonderful because it stands on what has been achieved." - Sergei Korolev
The media is heavily invested in the race being closer than the cakewalk it seemed to be before the first debate. So every attempt was made to show that Romney won, without much dwelling on the absolute horseshit he said. Only Slate really called him out, and they're pretty much left of the American centre.
Now they, IMO, can't have Biden swinging the race fully back into the D camp, so it's an "even" result, even though everywhere I see that Biden landed punch after unanswered punch. Even conservatives on other boards acknowledged that it was one-sided.

It's too bad that a vice president or just Biden's reputation in general allows him to spank the bullshit like this, where Obama would get grilled for being the same way. He should take note that keep hammering them on their specifics, it just makes them ramble and avoid the question, and hope the moderator calls them out on that crap too. Best part is Biden's experience and actually being involved or at the table for all these deals Ryan tried to bring up, could see Ryan not able to keep up the bullshit when the other guy was literally witness to those events.

Apparently the poll above where it was a narrow Ryan win- that's a phone poll (call in)which CNN admits is more republican slanted than the entire country- Just as social media is left leaning; phone-ins are usually right leaning. Taken with this in mind, I'd say that it's so close is akin to a Biden win.

How does anyone watch that and call it a win for Ryan!?

Vast majority of people haven't watched it, so if the guys giving soundbytes say Ryan won, then effectively he won. They just don't make a big thing about how they are defining winning here as "looking presidential" or whatever.
Yeah, I really don't get how anyone could call this a Ryan win. On the other hand, conservatives were more or less satisfied with Ryan's performance, but he did not wipe the floor with Biden as hoped, and with Biden going full-bore I think the GOP considers this a substantive Ryan win much like many Dems consider Obama a substantive win last debate.

One guy I talked to said that all that smiling and laughter from Biden was to cover his frustration.
Of course this very same guy also has the fucking nerve to claim that small business owners "create WEALTH" for the people under their employ. I didn't know that working at minimum wage while the business owner reaps most of the profits for himself constituted being wealthy. Shit, I make more than minimum wage, so I must be one wealthy motherfucker.
