English-trained officers? huh? Also, how do Highlands regiments get English officers? I am just wondering. Is it a lack of Scots officers (like how in USSR there were more russian officers and more azeri/kazakh/etc enlisted?)

Really whatever will further the independence agenda....
I remember Gavilo Princip's trial and him talking about how he did not care about which form a Yugoslav state was, as long as it existed for South Slavs. I guess it is similar to that.

Frankly, I'm of the opinion that I'd rather let the new Newton or new Tesla lead a better life than have him have a shitty one and come up with apple powered death rays."

From what I understand it's that all of the officer training schools are in England (hence, English-trained) and that being trained to fight in the British Army tends to remove Scottish/Welsh/Irish/Cornish/Whatever nationalism.

Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

Not really relevant. We are talking about a Scottish government with highly trained soldiers, not a small terrorist organisation. Also there isn't a sectarian problem in Wales as there is in Scotland.
