If you wrote the next Star Trek Movie...
If you wrote the next Star Trek Movie, what would you do? State the plot, the characters, any enemies and any special things that might be in it.
Me, I'd explore B-4 a bit and I'd find some way to bring back Data that did not seem too tacky. I'm still thinking on how to do that, though. The theme will be based on Species 8472. The Federation wants to make peace with them, and most of them want to make peace with the Federation. Some, noting Picard's previous state as a Borg drone, do not want peace and try to start a war with the Federation. The story would consist of how the Federation prevents the war. Data's revival may will be a very important part of saving the Federation. How? I still don't know. The crew will be the TNG crew, and the Enterprise E will survive the movie. There will be a Species 8472 vs. the Borg battle with several Borg planets being destroyed. One of the bad 8472 ships will engage the E-E and cause it some major damage, but get blown up by modified torpedoes. For help on the holes in the script, I would ask for ANYONE except B&B for assistance in this movie.
Post your own ideas.

Uggh no more Techobabble
This has been done before but I've modfied the plot to become more ass-kicking AND introduce a new and better ST series after the fact
Star Trek-Requirum
Plot-Admiral Janeway is falsey acuse of Espidonage and Treason in giving Federations secrets to the Cardassians while TNG Crew(Exculding Riker and Weasly) is determined to clear Admiral Janeway's name with the help of the Holo-Doc
Only to discover a darker secret, To learn that while the charges are false, Admiral Janeway's conduct in the Delta Quadrent were far worse and now are face with a problem, Clear Janeway despite knowing what she has done? Or let her hang?
Meanwhile 8472 is on the Warpath agian with the Borg and its spilling over into the Alpha Quadrent as the Borg despraty race to get more Drones to Combat the 8472 problem by once agian launching another attack on the Alpha Quadrent to get the Resoruces and weaponry they need to defeat 8472
They need Tom Paris(Or some other former Officer who was involved in making the nano-weapon) The knoweldge locked inside his head will help them crush 8472 and susquently the the Alpha Quadrent as well
So its a race of sorts
First for the TNG to find proof of Janeway's innocents on DS9(Make up some reason for the Holo-Doc to be there) then to take him back to Earth only to discover along the way that Janeway is what she is and hear a paniced report from DS9 to hear they are under Borg attack and turn around and find a Strategic Cube and 600 Cubes coming out of the Wormhole and slice and dice DS9 apart
They run for it but not before notcing that the Borg are laying Transwarp conduicts towards Earth
They race back to Earth to help defend it after fighting thier way past a few Cubes and get a download of thier records and discover who they are after and find the attack on Earth is only a diversion to get Paris, Run to save him from the Borg(Inculding Kick ass corridor fighting through Borg drones who do the lurch towards the enemy and die)
Meanwhile the Daring Young Captian(Who will star in our next ST series) Leads a large 400 Ship Fleet to try and Destory the Transwarp conduits at DS9 only to find a large scale CGI battle going between the Borg and 8472 and get their asses out of their
Meanwhile the orgional fleet lumbers on towards earth with 8472 in hot pursuit and both the TNG crew, and the Captian try to find them
The not so bright TNG crew takes Paris back to Earth hoping to take him to the best defend place in the Quadrent and bring the evidance back at the same time and cue emotial Scene Between Picard and the New Guy about what an idiot move that was
And finish up with a Giant space battle between the Federation/Borg/8472 around Mars until Sikso shows up in the Defiant(They would be thought dead up until this point) and Sucides into the Transwarp Conduit as the Cube starts coming through, causing a titatic expolison and both the Borg and 8472 Retreat, 8472 mistaking it for some new Weapon, The Borg because their would only be a 4.5% chance of Victory
Big complicated, But I hope to also kill both Sisko(Goes out with Glory) Janeway(Shot in Prison) Riker and Weasly(Dies in Battle) and Picard(Old Age)

Pardon me for sounding like a dick, but I'm playing the tiniest violin in the world right now-Dalton
I would start a new series taking place about anywhere from 3 to 12 years from the end of Voyager.
It would be a new ship, with a new crew, with all the new tech.
The main plot would be that during those years the Borg somehow get their act together (by this I also mean NO QUEENS!!!!) and start taking the Federation seriously. By this I mean more than 1 cube. Perhaps anywhere from 10 to 50 in each incursions. And the Feds, with their allies, somehow, through the use of ingenious tactics and home field advantage, repel the Borg.
And the Borg eventually start sending more and more ships.
And as for the Borg themselves, their ships are not going to be like Voyager's, where they shoot one torpedo at a time or something. The Borg, such as cubes, in my series would be firing something like 10+ torpedoes on rapid-fire and sweeping beams left and right, wiping out starships left and right. But the Feds, through huge losses, somehow win.
And also with this war, I would also portray a kind of breakdown of typical Federation morals. With such huge losses, the Feds are starting to become forced to use forbidden tech like subspace weapons, various superweapons, and phase cloak. The Federation starts becoming more and more militarized.
Also, in filler episodes, I would challenge the stability of Federation morals where I pit the crew in situations where they find that the situation is at odds with the morals they hold dear.
And at thevery end, the Borg recognize the Federation as a major power and open relations with them. Remember what Guinan said in "Q Who"? She said that until the Federation proves itself worthy, they're just scrap materials to the Borg. In this series, the Feds prove themselves worthy and the Borg recognize them for what they are rather than scrap materials.
There, that was pretty long, wasn't it.

If It were unavoidable....
The Dominion is having a lot of problems fighting the Borg, who have reverted back into asskickers. Also the borg have assimilated lots of Jem Hadar and Jem Hadar production facilites so the war is going rather badly for Odos people.
Odod contacts the Federation, the DOminion wants Sisko to go since he was their downfall in the war and the Federation also decides to send Picard because he is THE expert on Borg tactics and such.
So Picard and Sisko have to work out their differences, Picard doesn't like Sisko's more violent approach and Sisko still hates Picard for killing the Saratoga and his wife. I'd also use the Defiant-A (upgraded defiant class) instead of the E-E, id bring in the E-E and USS Titan later for a battle sequence.

any new series I come up with ultimate ends up sounding like cowby bebop, except with diferent aliens, and the crew is on the opposite side if the law.
the seedy underbelly of the federation would be good to see.

That was sort of the plot of Insurrection, only they fucked it up BIG TIME there. Had they done it right, it might have been an intriguing movie. But alas, it was crap.Posbi wrote:They don't need ne tech, they don't even necessarily need a new supervillian race, what they need are believable characters and a setting on the opposite side of Feddie space, like some remote colony sector having to deal with it's unfriendly neighbors or so...
Anyways, Trek needs to up the ante for space combat! In TWoK and TUC it was great, but in Nem it just felt....bland. We've got SW to the right of you, with Geonosis and all making us wet our pants, and you've got LOTR to the left of you, with Helms Deep making us wet our pants. And in the middle is loley old Trek:Nem, which came down to four ships unemotionally shooting at each other for 45 minutes. It was OK, but it feels old and dry. Give me Dominion War style engaments anyday.

I personally want to see a maror war break out between a bunch of rebel Feddies who are allied with Species 8472 against the Federation and the Klingons. Only Picard, Riker, Troi, and Gordi show up from the TNG cast (they are all captians and Picard is a commordore) and Tovuk, Sisco, and Worf show up as supporting cast. Lots of big battles will occur, climaxing in the invasion of fludic space and the death of Janeway who ramed Voyager into the thingy that allows 8472 to enter real space. The squadron under Picard makes it back and he retires. Riker makes commodore and Worf dies because of wounds he recived in battle. B4 was thrown out in air lock inn the beginning and was sucked into a black hole.

I would show the aftermath of the Dominion War, and explain how the Cardassians reacted to their utter defeat. The enemies would be Cardassian Nationalists, who had decided to team up with X where X is a menace of the week species like the Breen. Their plan is to destroy Earth, and the UFP, with a large WoMD strike on the planet.
I would use new characters, mixed with a few from DS9 and TNG, and show how the end of the Dominion War changed the balance of power in the AQ--in particular, how the Cardassians, Klingons, and the Federation fleets had been depleted while the Romulan one remained relatively fresh.

I would redo Nemesis, I think that movie had a lot of potential no one unlocked and it annoys me.
I would keep Shinzon and most main characters, with modifications to the Romulan political structure to make it more far right verses far left, and shinzon leading one side to victory with an improved senate scene. B-9 would have a more complex past, and I am toying with the idea of involving the Cardassians, the Maquis and maybie the Klingons, with Skippy's ship doing saom actual damage to some poor major planet. Janeway will be included, only to die in a major fleet battle toward the end, and the E-E will be rushed into Romulan terf without escort because they are desperate for peace, (they don't know who just axed a major planet, the Romulans are suspect but the Scimitar has not been identified jet) feeling they want an ally. From there much is the same, except the truth about the Scimitar is revieled, the crew is of course morally offended and Worf decides he will never forgive Romulans all over again blah blah blah. Big battle, we learn B-9 is infact a prototype, modified by the Romulans, but also that Lore knew of B-9 as well, and had his personality hidden withing the neural net. He sheds his disguse and fights Data in an effort to stop him from destroying the Scimitar. Data eventually succeds in getting by him, displays rare humanity and verbally gets Lore back, finally. Then Federation ships come to the rescue, but the Romulan fleet meets them in pitched battle. Janeway dies on her ship in a most horrible way, (toxic fumes leak onto the bridge, and she dies ) The battle leaves the present, time fast forewards; clips of a major war are shown, we see a clip of Data's funeral, Picard is clearly out of his element. He can and does still lead his ship, but he has questioned his very moral fiber. He started this war! At the end he takes comfort in B-9 (Lore has been removed) who is a great example of different personalities from the same potential.

No Borg. They've just been done to death. I'm sick of seeing them.
Hmm. How about... Federation commerce and shipping in some backwater sector has been halted. Every freighter that goes in isn't seen again. The Enterprise is dispatched to solve the problem. At first the investigation (which includes a scene of boarding a freighter torn in half; away team in spacesuits, dead bodies... should be suspenseful) points to a mercenary group that operates a small fleet of outdated Starfleet ships (read: old Constitution/Miranda/Constellation ships) upgraded with whatever 24th century tech they can find. Perhaps even cloaking devices. (but no cloak-while-fire bullshit)
This leads to a search-and-destroy mission. A Federation transport is brought in with infantry and *gasp* armor, and the hunt is on for the mercenaries' main base. The mission culminates in an assault on the mercenary base. In the aftermath, it is found that the mercenaries were being paid off by the Tholians to cause trouble and divert attention from the true nature of the threat.
After reporting to Starfleet Command, they are ordered to retaliate against a major Tholian outpost near the Federation border. Admiral Janeway in her arrogance assumes a single battleship and transport will be sufficient to penetrate the Tholian defenses and smash up the base.
The operation is botched when Tholian planetary defenses shoot down the transport, but the Enterprise manages to escape moments after landing a salvo of torpedoes on the Tholian base on the planet, destroying it and killing everyone there. After limping back to Starbase #, it is learned that the Tholians are preparing for a massive thrust into the Federation in hopes of taking and holding a sector of Federation territory, starting with Starbase #. Admiral Jellico, having taken over after Janeway has been relieved for gross incompetence, orders the Fifth Fleet (whom it was discovered earlier that the Tholians had hoped to catch at their outpost) to defend the Starbase. Following is a major fleet battle with the Federation fleet defending Starbase # (which happens to be a big mushroom-type base).
I'm not sure how it would end.

How bout this
Star trek the New Dimension
Riker and troi now commanding the new promethius-class explorer the USS Titan goes on it's first mission. Admiral leyton has ordered the ship to a wormhole which will lead them to the center of the galaxy, you see, Starfleet has made contact with an interdimensional race and someone must officially greet the creatures. The creatures are an eons old race of superbeing that look like a cross between an insect and an octopus. Their technology is so advanced that any race who take possession of it would be more powerful than anyone. Now this has ignited a space race, the romulans has joined, and so has the klingons. The races send one ship each inside the wormhole and make a startling discovery... The race is actually the long dead Lygosians (The ancient creatures from the episode "Contagion") The Lygosians ask who are these creatures and begins kidnapping one from each ship. They are scanned and examined and then returns to the ship. The Romulans offended by the lygosians fires on the lygosian killing him, this in turn ignites a lengthy battle. The USS titan armed with pulse phasers, ablative regenerative armor and polaron cannons fires on the romulan ship, the romulans now armed with multiphasic distruptor cannons fire on the titan. The Titan splits into 5 sections and fires upon the romulans ripping it a new asshole, the lygosians see this and they declare there will be a contest. Each ship will be place in an intergalactic arena watched by other supergods and normal underlings. The ships must fight each other and who ever wins get the technology. This ensues a lengthy battle inside the arena. The USS Titan gets ripped several new ones (one section is destroyed) The klingons fires back and tears sections of the romulan ship apart. The USS Titan damages the klingon battlecruiser. The Federation gets the technology and the USS Titan and the battlecruiser escapes....
But months later, an invasion force appears on earth. The Lygosians tricked them. They gave the technology to the federation so they could invade the planet earth. Starfleet officers and Earth Citizens fight the lygosians, in one scene, an Argo is used to chase a lygosian ground assault vessel through the San Fransisco streets. Lygosians have invaded the Klingon Homeworld. massive battles have ensued. The Klingons and the Federation get together and form a massive battle fleet. The battle fleet enters the wormhole and finds the lygosians. They find the central command annex and destroy it..... But something happens. This entire event disappears and the Titan is what remains with crew and ship intact. The Lygosians say it's only a test to see if humans are ready for there being a federation-lygosian alliance. They determine humans are not ready for the new technology. The USS titan goes on its merry way back to earth after being released from the void.

You wanna set an example Garak....Use him, Let him Die!!

While I don't know about any plot ideas, I would definetly reduce the number of characters.
Make it focus on the good guy (picard, sisko, whatever) &the bad guy, have the rest of the cast in the background like in TOS, and have a simple story.
Thats why Nem. failed. it tried to be TWOK with technobabble & too many character plot lines.
The Wrath of Khan had two. It focused on Kirk, McCoy & Spock. And focused on Khan. Nice & simple.

The Hornet
I would have the next Trek series based a few years after the return of voyager.
The Federation will be slowly continuing the decline in morale’s as seen in Insurrection. Troubles with the Romulans & Borg will be ever present & provide the backdrop to the series.
Plotlines (the series will have major long running themes & plotlines) will include troubles at Starfleet; the losses suffered in the dominion war will be resented by a group of Star Fleet captains who wish things to return to the 'old ways'. As well as the problems encountered when the Borg assimilates several friendly planets. In addition a new collection of young snappy races cause problems for the Federation particularly when several worlds considered Federation property whilst not actually being members of the Federation start rebelling.
The series will take place on a brand new federation carrier whose main armament is its two squadrons of peregrine fighters. This will allow plenty of diverse characters & action sequences.
Also the chief engineer will be banned from using techno-babble so instead of saying “the phased polaron emitters need realignment” he will say “power is off line it’ll take me an hour to get it back”.
The film will be also serve as a pilot to the next series (risky I know but lets face it Trek needs to start taking risks) it’ll deal with a Federation/Romulan clash initially similar to many a TNG episode.
The Romulans have apparently been seizing & searching vessels near the Neutral zone. A federation cruiser was sent weeks ago to investigate these allegations but has not been heard of since.
A small federation task force is sent led primarily by the Carrier with orders to make sure the Romulans do not see the Federation as weak pickings.
However after a bit of investigation that involves a fighter chase scene it turns out that the Romulans are not behind the attacks but have themselves sent a task force to discover the whereabouts of a missing Warbird.
A few raider vessels are discovered completely by accident but as soon as they are hailed the strange vessels explode apparently suicide. This is all mysterious but merely an introduction to the next part of the film as well as to provide a few mysteries for the series to solve.
It is at this point that the Romulan fleet is recalled to fight a Borg Cube invading their space. The Federation task force is giving orders to aid the Romulans.
The initial Romulan fleet has failed to destroy the Borg cube however when the combined Fed/Romulan task force arrives they find that the damaged Cube has contented itself with assimilating a small Romulan colony. The force destroy the Cube but the Federation force is then told to leave.
The Film/pilot ends with a Romulan force bombarding the assimilated planet.
Actually I think it’d be a crap movie but it’s a good idea for a pilot.

Maybe I'm just simplistic.
I want to see how the Federation is reacting to being the Big Dog. Make two groups vying for control.. Those that want to dominate while they have all the guns, and one which wants to demiliterize and return to the Good Old Days.
But things get dicey when an uprising is reported near the Neutral Zone. Is it the Maquis? Or something far worse? Our Heros are sent to find out. But getting to the Zone, a little old-fashioned investigation unearths that the locals don't know anything about a rebellion.
Let the deceptions unfold over the first half, as the warmongering party has manufactured a false revolution to maintain the militaries control and to excuse the coming conquests. The second half has our heros(Whoever they are), racing towards Earth, having to fight off the 'rebels' and even some Starfleet vessels.
As they approach Earth with proof of the deception, a huge warship(A non-seperating Prometheus? A refit Galaxy?) is sitting in their path. Weakened from the long, running battle back, the E-E(Or whichever ship we are using), detaches it's saucer, as the engineering hull maintains speed. As the saucer maneuvers as best it can to reach Earth, we get a brief glimpse of Sisko ramming the warship at full impulse...
That's my idea.

Serie set in either 100-200 years after Dominion War.
Star Trek: Renegades
It starts with a young leiutenant is experiencing a ground battle in a small war between Federation and a some bad aliens. This leiutenant, (lets call him Max) gets tired of the war after have lost several of his friends in combats he doesn't see a reason to fight and die for something he doesn't believe in so he quits or escapes from the battle, from his surperiors.
He sets down on a remote world where he meets strange thugs/mercenaries who sales their services to the highest bidder. Max and the gang do some smaller missions till one day a very rich and influenced criminal ganster who wants to get his hands on the latest Federation technologies and offers a large sum of money to the gang if they can steal the prototype Federation/Romulan hybrid warship from Utopia Planetia fleetyards.
They manage to steal the ship and takes it to the ganster cheif, but the cheif screwes them and tries to steal the ship from the mercenaries but they fight back and retakes the ship and escapes. They later tries to find another buyer.
Federation is so embarrased by letting some rouge mercenaries steal their top of the line warship they don't announce it missing through the official channels, instead they get special assault teams who will try to seek and hunt the mercenaries down and retake the ship.
But Max and his gang finds no suitable client to buy the ship so they decide to keep it. But on their journey they ecounter a new powerful alien power who are currently building up a huge invasion fleet, with a goal to conquer the galaxy so they tries to warn the Federation of this new potential enemy, but Federation ignores their warnings and instead locks them in a prison colony on a remote planet.
Suddenly this new alien force which is 100x times more deadly then the Borg where at their peak starts to rampaging the entire galaxy. The prison colony is also under attack and under the confusion Max and the mercenaries are able to escape before the planet gets blown to peices. Max and the team is able retake the Fed/Rom hybrid warship during the confusion in a alien raid on the docking platforms. Max then takes the ship and saves a trapped Federation/Dominion fleet from certain destruction in a major battle with the aliens, and manage to destroy several alien command cruisers and gets celebrated as a war hero by many.
The war lasts for two-three years and Vulcan, Earth and many worlds gets conquered. But an unnexpected alliance by many medium, smaller worlds and remnats from Federation/Dominion/Klingon/Romulan/Rouge (independante) Borg and thousands of other species that have been seen through ST television history joins forces into one enormus fighting force against the aliens and they can't repell the allied forces and gets forced off from Earth and many thousands of worlds they have taken. An powerful enourmus Alliance is born into one super powerful faction, the biggest in history in Milky Way galaxy, as millions of species joins the Galactic Federation as the alien threat has been erradicated forever.

This is a reprint of one of my early post on this board. The new series, or movie would begin like this:
Space...
A battle damaged Constitution refit approaches Earth. As it flies past our point of view, we see the words NCC- 1701A USS Enterprise painted on it.
Bridge...
Uhura speaking: "Captain, we are receaving a message from Admiral Baddecision, he is once again congradulating us for or success over Khittomer, but still insist we must put the ship in drydock for decommissioning... Captain?"
Camera pans over to captain's chair to find Kirk asleep, he slowly wakes up
Kirk speaking groggly: "Lieutenant, I just had the worst dream. I dreamth that a hundred or so years from now, there would be an Enterprise-D, whose captain is a bald french man with an strong english accent. His crew was composed of a pussy first officer, a wussy android, an idiot Klingon, and this really annoying little boy. It was horrible."
Checkovf: "Surely Captain, it can't be so!"
Kirk: "It gets worst, they fly around space spouting this new Federation communist pacifist nonsence. And their ship almost blows up every week. Their only defense involves a man with a cheese grader over his eyes spouting some nonsense for long periods of time. Words like subspace disturbance and quantom singularity. Scotty, those words mean anything to you?"
Scotty: "Not in'd least bit Capt'n"
Spock: "There is no logic to this Captain, why would Starfleet field a ship with such problems?"
Kirk: "I don't know Spock, I, just, don't, know"
McCoy: "Damnit Jim!, you know dreams are nonsense."
Kirk: "But it was so vivid!"
Commercial break
In sick bay, Kirk is lying on a medical bed facing up
Kirk: "And then there was the space station, filled with these wierd religious nuts with funny things on their noses. And the captain was bald too, and a really bad actor. But there was this hot chick named Dax."
McCoy: "Damnit Jim!"
Kirk: "No wait bones, then there was this other ship named Voyager, her captain was a woman. At least I think she was a woman, she sounded like a man. But there was this other chick with numbers for a name, but her personality was inferior to that of a peice of toejam. This part of the dream took forever, at least seven years. Why bones?! Why?!"
McCoy: "Well it's over now. Relax Jim, it was only a dream, only a dream."

There is no story here, I'm just trying to show that the only thing that would save Star Trek now is a Dallas maneuver. But if you wish to add on, go knock yourself out.Admiral Johnason wrote:I smell fanfic. It is a good idea. Can I help with the story?
