Mom of teen 'slay sibs' tips off cops after NJ girl, 12, killed for bike

A New Jersey mom ratted out her teen sons for the murder of a 12-year-old girl after reading a Facebook posting hinting that one of them wanted to go on the lam, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

Justin Davidson’s mom saw his message “Might be moving ” on Sunday and became suspicious.

She tipped cops that he might have been involved in the disappearance of their neighbor, Autumn Pasquale, in Clayton, NJ, the sources said.

Autumn was allegedly lured to meet Justin, 15, and his brother Dante Robinson, 17, at their home Saturday because they wanted parts from her beloved BMX bike.

The massive search for Autumn came to a tragic end Monday night when her body was found stuffed in a recycling bin at a vacant property near the boys’ house.

An autopsy found she had been strangled.

We are all capable of evil.

Cal Thomas, in one of his articles, wrote about a witness in the trial of Adolf Eichmann.

In his book, “The Body,” Charles Colson, writes about the trial of Adolph Eichmann. Among the witnesses was Yehiel Dinur, who had escaped death in Auschwitz. On his day to testify, Dinur entered the courtroom and stared at the man in the bulletproof glass booth, the man who murdered Dinur’s friends, personally executed a number of Jews, and presided over the slaughter of millions more. Dinur shouted and sobbed, collapsing on the floor.

Had hatred of Eichmann, or horrendous memories, caused his strong reaction? No. As he later explained in a riveting “60 Minutes” interview it was because Eichmann was not the demonic personification of evil Dinur had expected. Rather, he was an ordinary man, just like anyone else. Dinur realized that sin and evil are the human condition. “I was afraid about myself,” Dinur said. “I saw that I am capable to do this ... exactly like he. Eichmann is in all of us.”

That evil has its enablers does not excuse the Nazis, Catholics, the Inquisitors nor Madoff, but it should give pause to all of us who denounce Madoff in ways that make us feel superior to him and incapable of performing evil acts of our own.

What dismayed me were some of the comments of the article. They somehow blame the accused's blackness for the crime, as if black people who commit murder do so because of their blackness. (of course, none of them ever claimed that white people like Scott Peterson ever commit murder because of their whiteness.) Those commenters are in fact denouncing those boys in "ways that make [them] feel superior to [those boys] and incapable of performing evil acts of [their] own.

And while we all have evil inclinations, the strongest evil inclination is based upon the belief that oneself is incapable of evil.

What's more interesting is the author's choice of words. Apparently, the woman "ratted out" her kids. Apparently, it's tough to be black in Murdochlandia. Even if you do the right thing, you're still getting called a rat.
