It's practically a T29 prototype.
In fact, it is.

Oh I know what it is. Doesn't change the fact that the turret makes it look so weird

Re: World of Tanks Mark 2
The M6 Compensator is rather well armoured from the front, but is protected with finest detroit paper on the sides. It's a strange, strange machine to play.
I wish them well whenever I see them, regardless of which side they're on.

Re: World of Tanks Mark 2
The regular M6 or the variant?
Though out of all the tier 6 heavies, I think it is one of the most that most needs maneuverability to do well. Something it gains with the final engine upgrade. Then all you need is driving skills.

Re: World of Tanks Mark 2
Well, technically 'strong front, paper sides' fits both of them. But by 'M6 Compensator' its safe to assume Vanas meant the Mutant M6
EDIT: I have also discovered the problem with the T-150...everyone and their grandma shoots you. They know that the 150 has the best armor of my team, and the best gun (when I'm top-tier) so they all zoom in on me. Quite annoying, especially when they do it when I'm in a large group.

I don't know the in-game stats, but wiki has the M6A2E1 as more armored than the M6.

It is. Significantly so.

Re: World of Tanks Mark 2
Yeah, back in Ye Olde Days the M6 Compensator had more frontal hull armour than any other US tank. it's still a reasonable 190-ish these days.
Nowadays, they're like dinosaurs from another time; rarely spotted and lumbering over the battlefield.

Just got the long 122mm cannon for my KV-1S. Now I understand everything I was every told about that tank...

Personally I prefer the T-150's 107 to the 122 on the 1S.
(and yes, I played the 1S on the Test Server)

I ran into a KV-220 yesterday. I didn't know there were any of those on the NA server, as far as I knew it's an RU server only tank.

And a large thick mantlet that you can get a lot of bounces on. It's also a freaking amazing tank.ryacko wrote:Victory!

I've found arty hate extends further than I thought. I've got people getting angry at me for a shell hitting them...when they move right where the guy I was shooting at was when I fired. Like I can freaking control when the shell lands.

Re: World of Tanks Mark 2
So I picked up the M7 MT to prepare for the new American line, and this thing is... different. Dies if anybody even looks at it wrong, but good speed and firepower. I'd really like it if it had better gun depression, but I've been getting pretty decent performance out of it.

Re: World of Tanks Mark 2
Arty is only a problem at the high tiers. I don't even take my tier 10 out in pubs anymore because it's too miserable, you just get instanuked by the hordes of atomic cannons with UAV targeting. I've seen a match before with 21 arty total. I've also seen a screenshot of a match with 15 arty on one side and 14 on the other. The remaining tank was an E-100. That poor, poor guy.Skywalker_T-65 wrote:I've found arty hate extends further than I thought. Re: World of Tanks Mark 2
That goes both ways. Arty drivers who fire at a face-hugging tank are often being careless in search of kills; the chance of accidentally hitting your teammate is very high in that case, even if the two tanks remain motionless (which is not at all guaranteed; if both drivers are pushing against each other and one suddenly goes into reverse, the other guy will move forward automatically).Skywalker_T-65 wrote:I've found arty hate extends further than I thought. Basically, if the story is "yeah, I should have known that you might get nuked along with the enemy, but that was a chance I was willing to take", then you should not be surprised at your teammates' ire.

Re: World of Tanks Mark 2
Seriously, if two tanks are in close combat... don't fire. Really, don't. Unless your guy is going to lose and lose hard, don't take the risk of SAVING THE ENEMY just so you can get a kill. There's lots of other targets to go for.

Re: World of Tanks Mark 2
That's the thing. The problem was they were at the other end of the map, and the guy on my team rushed forward like an idiot. I've never hit a teammate before, because I know better than to shoot guys sitting right next to each other. Especially when they are face-hugging...just common sense not to shoot in that case.
(other end of the map being a problem because of how long the shell takes to travel)

Tap T to indicate you're firing and then it's that guy's fault if he rushes in hard like that rather than going for the circle or something.
I can't wait for 8.2. I want the T57, I just hope the T21 doesn't keep getting horrible tiering.

To be fair, in the heat of a one on one brawl it can be difficult to see that. Still, accidents happen, no need to get pissed over a game.

I believe it's both.
And that gives them a warning that you're shooting at that guy.
