Favourite Fictional Infantry Weapon
Here's a list I came up with after racking my brain for noteable infantry weapons from films, comics, TV programmes etc.
Personally for me it's a toss up between the Blastech E-11 and the Colonial Marine M-41A.
I hate hate hate the Space Marine boltgun for its lack of a shoulder stock.
Sorry if I've omitted your favourite, describe it in the thread.

Bah! Real man use Bolters! You don't need shoulder stock when you are a space marine!JJP wrote:Here's a list I came up with after racking my brain for noteable infantry weapons from films, comics, TV programmes etc.

Obviously this guy has never played 40K or he would know just how hard it is to take down a space marine in tactical dreadnaught armour running at you with a storm shield and thunder hammer. Here's a hint: bring some anti tank weapons!Pablo Sanchez wrote: And then they get their silly asses kicked by conscripts with proper weapons.

Its not Infantry but I have a one
Vash's Gun(Trigun, sure its Anima but who does not love a 50Cal Handgun with secondary fire Nukes Citys)
From 40k
Powerfists!
Jar opener? Why? When I can rip apart Steel Doors!
From SW
The Blastech is nice but I prefer Bobba Fett's Assult Rifle

That's a cut down MG34 in real life.Grand Admiral Thrawn wrote:DLT-19. Han Solo as a Stormie had one.
I've sussed most of the weapons used as props in SW, but I still can't figure out the basis for the E-WEB.
As for 40K Space Marines, I never much liked the idea of super-duper warriors in invincible power armor who are so cool that they defy all limits of coolness. The sad fact is that weaponry advances as quickly as armor; the Space Marine invincibility, and the effectiveness of melee combat are both as much forced gameplay elements as Mech supremacy in Battletech.

The best Fictional Infantry Weapon is a Mobile Infantryman, just the person. They are lethal and effective with everything from hands to H-bombs.

Simple Big Fly Fish
They look like gloves riight?
Its the best way to assert your dominace over people in RL! (Best RL weapon as you can pass it off as just you being veeery strong)
Besides you can wear powerfists around Town!
Self to high? Why cut it down when you can rip it down!
Stuck door?
Not anymore!
Car in your spot?
Just lean it up aginst a tree and out of everyones way!
It has soo many uses!

From John barnes timeline wars trilogy, the SHAKK. A mach 10 homing projectile, that can fire off of a remote sight, and given about three feet of clearance can do a 180 past you to track in on the target, fifth element style. Upon hitting a human being, the round will automatically travel up to the brain, and then expend its remaining energy rattling around inside the victim's skull, completely liquefying the brain. If targeted on a weapon, it will spiral down the barrel, ripping it apart, before slamming back through the firing chamber, power pack, whatever, usually taking off the holder's hand. Full auto capability 2000 round ammunition capacity, can reassemble scrap material into additional ammo if all of the proper elements are all present.
The only real weakness is that it homes in on precisely what is in the sights at the time the trigger is pulled, so full auto firefight on a crowded city street is a BAD idea.

The force lance comes from Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda.JJP wrote:Ah, sorry, forgot Phased Plasma rifles from Terminator.
I don't know what a force lance is, or what series it comes from. ANybody care to explain?
The force lance is a short cylinder that is the standard personal weapon of Galactic Commonwealth military personnel, such as the Lancers, the Galactic Commonwealth equivalent of marines. A spiffy little polyvalent Swiss Army knife of a weapon, it can: deploy into a full-size quarterstaff; deliver stunning electrical charges with a touch; electromagnetically launch effectors (AKA: smart bullets) as antipersonnel or anti-artillery rounds, including explosive options; deliver a ranged plasma beam that can be used as a weapon or as a cutting tool; electronically lock out unauthorized users;and can be set to explode as a plasma grenade as a last-ditch option. All of the options are usable regardless of whether the weapon is retracted to sidearm size or extended to quarterstaff size.
