Its my understanding that the USN is dry and it's the rest of us who have the two beers per man, per day.

If you are away from port for more than 50 days and not going to be hitting port in a few more days they owe you 2 beers. It's usually whatever they can get. I got some sort of Egyptian beer twice and Foster's once.

Otherwise, the USN is technically dry. I think they will let people have non-alcoholic beer onboard.

Ah, steel beach parties, but I know for a fact the ship I was on had more than just beer on board. Saw the stash of wild turkey and jameson's before they had time to hide it. Was probably for the officers or Captains mess.
