Hello all,
I remembered this place after not coming here in a very long time when another forum I frequent had a "Is tech in Star Wars or Star Trek better?" thread.
To be honest having not been to the site since probably around 2005 I'm glad to see its still alive and kicking.

Re: New Member Introductions
Hello everyone, I'm new here after being banished from the HPCA forums for the terrible, terrible crime of not agreeing with Stuart Slade on something. So yeah, kinda glad to be in a place not run by someone who uses a fake Thai general as a sock puppet yet bans people for random things. Though still kinda annoyed since I liked a lot of the guys over there. Anyhoo, about me I guess the best way to describe it as catholic. Strongly populist and in favor of helping the poor while also a bit socially conservative though for gay rights, civil unions and stronger protections for all in the workplace. I'm a history nut and have love science fiction, especially futuristic westerns, also an rpg player looking for a posse to play deadlands. That's about it, happy to be here.
LARIATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Re: New Member Introductions
Hello, I am a fan of this sort of nerdy analysis of what ifs in science fiction and I have been ghosting this forum for some time now.
Re: New Member Introductions
Hello there,
My moniker is a band name (I'm no good with names) and I've lurked for awhile. My roommates and partners call me by a single letter. I enjoy literature, cooking and debating, et cetera and so forth. Currently working on an erotica novella and teasing out the rough draft of an urban fantasy novel. And poetry but I find most people don't give two shits about poetry, sad as that is. I live in Philadelphia. I'm also 30, disabled, trans and poly.

So, yet another redshirt joining the crowd.
Why AfroBeaver you ask? Well, I like beavers, the Afro part comes from a nickname from work that I shall not divulge.
I'm in my mid twenties, an avid fan of sci-fi. Obviously I like Star Wars, I also like Star Trek. Sue me. I enjoy a good story, I watch both (and more) to be entertained by them so I more or less take them at face value.
I'm actually pretty intelligent (IE, I can comprehend quite a bit of what I read with a little research) but I'm pretty lazy most of the time and I have a short attention span. Don't expect a whole lot. I'm here because I like the site and have a few things that occasionally pop into my head that are a source of curiosity for me. I understand there are people here smarter, more experienced and better educated than myself so why not ask them, right? Yeah, that's pretty much it from me. See you around the boards.

Re: New Member Introductions
Hi, just found this forum, love sci-fi, favorites are Doctor Who, Babylon 5, Star Wars. discovered the boards through trolls going after theOrionBroadcast on youtube and just had to see what all the trouble is about, and looking for a decent place on line to hang out.looking at many of the threads on this board I suspect I will get my rear end handed to me, I'm a middle aged Spinoza Pantheist Spiritualist/deist, which means I love sci fi from before most of you were born and don't think much of either side of the Atheist vs Christian debates as it hasn't really changed since Bishop Sheen and Bertrand Russell.

Re: New Member Introductions
I'm not sure if I ever introduced myself on here or not - I don't think I did. I posted in 2010 a bit, one or two in early 2012 and now I'm back in late 2013. Forgot how much I liked reading threads here.
Also I blocked it from work because I liked it too much. Yeah.
I work as a Statistician, and am currently reworking a fanfic into an original fic.

LONG time lurker and at one time occasional poster. Totally forgot my username as it had been an eternity since I'd posted last, so made a new profile. Anyway, just an average guy living life in the good old heartland of the USA.

Hello, people!
Really happy to have been approved registration here, despite the lockdown. Have lurked for a while, but decided it was time to dive in. Unfortunately, I don´t have an interesting story about my username, as it is simply my surename, but at least it´s quite rare, so there. My first name i Christian, by the way.
I currently work at an psychiatric emergency ward as a milieu therapist (despite having an MSc. in Organizational Psychology. Yeah. I know.) and read mostly sci-fi and popular science books when not working, training or gaming. And I also have the most awesome dog in the world, named Bulle.

Re: New Member Introductions
It's..... afternoon. Did I sleep in again? Or am I losing track of time? Eh.
Anywho, hello stardestroyer.net!
Fnord has long been waxing lyrical about this forum, and I've read SLAM and Let's plays off and on for quite a few years now.
Went to take the plunge months ago, regos were closed. Bummer.
Much rejoicing today after copious coffee. (wooting in a confined space is a no-no according to fnord)
The username is explained by having to do too much crawling around in the wonderful space between ceiling and roof and also between floor and ground.
It's hot, dusty, dark, stuffy and a variety of creatures call roofspaces home.
Power tools forever!
(I keep mentioning fnord. I've put up with him for 28 years. We happen to be related.)

Re: New Member Introductions
Greetings and salutations!
Actually, I'm not very good at introductions.
I have been content to simply lurk around the StarDestroyer.net forums for the better part of five years, now. I've seen things veterans of the boards would probably believe as they unfolded. Crazy Destructionator XIII contemplating insanity in RARs and biting the hand that fed him before it hammered him into well deserved non-existence. Shroomy glittering off the Testing's threads. All these messages since erased, as if someone deleted them. Which is what happened.
Regardless, I to provide meaningful contributions, and, of course, have fun.

Hello, I've been looking to expand my interest in Science Fiction, I hail for Alternatehistory.com and I'm a fan of that genre in particular. I've also read Isaac Asimov's foundation trilogy, Bolo books and some Judge Dredd. I look forward to a long and productive stay.

Well, the old gang moved from the newsgroup to here. I've been holding out, plus busy with the forum that discusses my favourite capture card the MDP-130.
Have been mostly involved in the various O.S. forums and the like, don't expect to be a big contributor here. Just protecting my latest Nom de Plume.
In fact, moving on right now to another interest, more to follow in the near future.

Heya guys! I'm Kaku, a 20 year old from Florida. I'm not much of a Star Wars guy but I do like forums and the one I used to go to died. I found this one because I was about to type something into my phone's browser and for some reason, Chrome suggested "stardestroyer.net/bbs" and I was like "ooooooh, lets give it a shot!"
I hope I can fit right in and as always, if I'm an idiot, please let me know and forgive my transgressions, though I'll try to make few. a

Good day everyone,
First, thanks to Edi and Dalton for saving me from the spam filter. Much appreciated. I have read what is openly available for a while, and I appreciate the chance to post. I hope to make some useful contributions, continue to learn from what I read here, and have some fun. Interested in science fiction, history, and military. Thanks

Re: New Member Introductions
Good Morning,
I have been lurking on the forum for a while and have finally got the time to join and contribute. Anyways a little about myself; I have lived in coastal Virginia for the past six years, three of those years I served aboard the USS Bataan, and the last three years at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. At the end of 2014 I left the Navy, however, I continue to work as an Information Assurance Officer at NMCP.
One to two times a month I play a Pen and Paper RPG with friends at my home. Generally we play New World of Darkness or Star Wars Saga, tho recently we have gotten into DND 5.0. Also I try to get some time in on Star Trek Online, which is my current video game obsession.
