Who would you rather give your money to?

Post by BlkbrryTheGreat »

Who would you rather give your money to, a church or a generic crack addict? (Assuming someone is forcing you to make the choice at gun point.)
Feel free to give reasons.

As for me, I would give it to the crack addict.... I would rather support a drug cartel then organized religion.

For those who wonder the idea for this thread came to me when I read about the thithing in the Freedom thread....
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

Organized religion. I don't approve of it, but if I give my money to organized religion, there IS a chance that it will be used for some type of charity, or some program to feed the homeless. With the crack addict, it's just going to make some cokelord very happy.

Hey you forgot the crack addict he'll be happy too! And don't forget the corrupt policeman, the DEA agent, the corner dealer, the gun salesmen, the dirty CIA underbelly (they'll sell crack too!), the smugglers, and who knows how many other people who are dependent on the drug industry for income. They need your charity too!

Definitely Organized religion. If all those people you mentioned were to lose their jobs because no one was supporting the drug culture, then maybe they could go be productive in society. At least religion gives some people a reason to get up and go to work in the morning.

It's all about the productivity.

Crack can give people a reason to get up in the morning.....

Well, it would all depend on what kind of organized religion it was (liberal nice Christians doing charity work or fundies puching creationism into the schools), and what kind of crack addict we're talking about here (crackhead loser or successful businessman who can't quite kick the powder). But on the all, I may give my money to the crack addict, in the hopes he might want to change, and use the money to that end. I'd also give it to him just to piss off the religionist.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

The crack addict it is. Also because if anyone has read the "Freedom? In this place?" thread they'll know which is the greater evil. Plus, with any luck the crack addict might O/D if you give them enough. The church would just expand.

Crack addict. Gotta support organized crime, y'know.

Besides, it goes with my sense of ethics. The crakhead is most likely a weakling, I will be doing him a favor by shortening his pathetic life, and society as a whole for his removal.

Let's see...

If I give the money to organized religion, they might use it for good, like charity work, or they might use it to shove their mindset down other people's throats.

Crack is illegal, but I could give it to him, turn him in, and get a reward, which could be used for something else.

I'd say organized religion, since it's likely it won't be used to start another crusade.

Organized religion, assuming it's a charitable group. If you mean something more along the lines of WBC or other such idiots, though, I'd rather take the bullet.
