Is what these guys propose to build at all possible? I don't know much about cell phone construction, IMHO it looks doable but the devil might lie in the 'connector' block, as it's the only part I am not sure if it would be realistic in such customized way. Opinion? And would the phone win market share even if it was built?

Ah. I was wondering where to put it, and eventually settled on 'Science', it wouldn't occur to me to put it in 'Gaming' section
