So, I needed something to do this weekend, and I slipped back into tanks after a while, only to find it's like a x3 XP weekened or something! Yay, so I took my KV1 out for a spin and this happened:

Victory!
Battle: Ruinberg 29/09/2013 16:28:20
Vehicle: KV-1
Experience received: 4,158 (x3 for the first victory each day)
Credits received: 55,095
Battle Achievements: Steel Wall, Top Gun, Pool's Medal

I didn't know Pool's Medal was a thing
This odyssey, this, exodus. Do we journey toward the promised land, or into the valley of the kings? Three decades ago I envisioned a new future for our species, and now that we are on the brink of realizing my dream, I feel only solitude, and regret. Has my entire life's work been a fool's crusade? Have I led my people into this desert, only to die?

Victory!
Battle: Pearl River 9/29/2013 10:59:34 AM
Vehicle: Type 58
Experience received: 3,717 (fine for damage caused to allies: 168; x3 for the first victory each day)
Credits received: 39,339 (fine for damage caused to allies: 3,090)
Battle Achievements: Mastery Badge: "Ace Tanker"

Om Nom Nom bitches. They guy I Team Killed apologized to me for getting in front of my gun, he knew whose fault it was. There is a little pass at J4 on pearl river that I turned into my own graveyard of tanks, demonstrating that even with no gun depression the T-34-85 will dominate overconfident heavies. Silly churchills and M6s, my turret is at least as tough as yours, and I know all of the weakpoints.

Hate it when that happens. And always when I'm in my Hetzer, so of course it's a one shot.

But oh man, I had a terrible run with my UE 57 yesterday. I was doing about as well as I usually do, but my teams were all shit, and I'm nowhere near good enough to carry the team, especially in this dinky little thing. I like how accurate it is, and it's got a decent rate of fire, but the acceleration and turn rate are both terrible, so close range fighting is suicide.

Had a first in my years of tanking last night. I was sitting outside radio range while the front ranks engaged, but the two teammates near me had better radios and opened fire. I watched where their shots intersected, aimed, fired and killed a Cromwell that was never drawn on my screen. I have had plenty of invisi-kills, but this was the first with that sort of indirect deduction.

Some times it seems no matter what I do: passive scout, in a heavy, whatever, I notice I died because I was one ofthe last three left and the other team had lost only three.

Still get very frustrated at times when I get one shotted before I see them and there is no one around me to give me away and I hadn't fired yet. The probably had much higher view range, but damn it, I'm supposed to have the highest, always.

Yeah, invisi-derps annoy me too. They teach caution I suppose, but still bloody annoying.

If you're in cover and they see you first, you're not in a tank suited to passive scouting and in good cover. It's pretty much that simple.

Object 704

That game right there is why the 704 is my favorite tier 9.

for the hell of it I made a new account and found out that they give new accounts t1 crews at 100%. Debating on whether or not to just start the grind over because of it.

Edit: I just got my first t5 tank so might be worth it.

They do? That's interesting, though I wouldn't do it with how close I (finally) am to hitting T10.

Yeah, that was introduced in, IIRC, 8.5 or 8.6 to make seal clubbing a little less trivial (though still trivial since clubbers can afford equipment like binocs/optics and still have an enormous view range advantage).

Once you have a tier 5 or so tank, 100% crews take basically no time to get. I wouldn't say it's worth it.

30% credit increase on the T-150? Now that is going to be useful. I already use that tank as my primary money maker, this just adds icing to the cake.

That special gives me an excuse to finally buy that S-51 I have been thinking about.

Victory!
Battle: Fjords 10/5/2013 8:51:24 PM
Vehicle: ELC AMX
Experience received: 1,109
Credits received: 25,785
Battle Achievements: Top Gun

I just got Top Gun in a T5 scout in a T8 game. Whatever I'm doing, apparently I'm doing it right.

On a related note: I love this tank. :D

I think its impossible to not love a fully upgraded ELC :P

I mean, I'm someone who loves the slow Russkie heavies, and the ELC is probably my second favorite tank (behind the T-150).

So! Traded my Med III for a Matilda. Wow, this thing is slow. Stock gun has decent firing rate, at least.

The taper bore 2pdr Mk X-B gun chews through the armor of almost anything you'll ever fight like a hypervelocity bandsaw, so it's worth it. Don't even waste your time with the 3" howitzer, though.

The howitzer, while useless, was pretty fun when it could shoot over both your cover and their cover and land on something important, like the roof of the turret or on to the engine compartment. Very rarely did so, but still satisfying.

 Too late, I already bought the wrong gun. Oh well, it's "only" a couple thousand XP.

If you want to use that howitzer, put it on the cruiser tank that can carry it. On low tier and with high mobility, it is actually useful and much more fun.

So after this battle, I'm pretty sure I need a mod that tells me when my shots will penetrate.

http://wotreplays.com/site/374247?secre ... 2007370552

13 hits and 6 penetrations, that's just embarrassing. So what mod do I use and how do I install mods?

And yes, I know my accuracy is shit when I'm moving. :P
