That's in no way a suprise, worrying but no suprising. These Arab/Muslim fundie idiots have a ridiculous solidarity. They'd rather support a brutal dictator that pays lip service to Islam and would wipe them out in heartbeat rather than have a the western powers help them.

That is probably the most accurate description of the this whole saga ever!

No matter what the US does more then enough people will hate it. I don't find this surprising or that great of a concern. Warm bodies are a plentiful asset, the resources to actually conduct attacks are not.

They're gonna have a lot of fun when they go home after the war and can't make love to their wives/girlfriends because their balls got blown off during a BUFF raid.

Did you actually read the article in question? There's nothing about the next wave of recuits going to Iraq to fight. Chances are, they're not going to be ready to fight there unless the war drags on for over a year.

What these non-humans are going to do is engage in more traditional forms of Islamist observance: bombings, shootings, and other forms of mass murder.

NY Times article wrote:In the 16-minute message, the speaker, whom the authorities say they now believe was indeed Mr. bin Laden, exhorts Muslims to seize the chance to defend President Saddam Hussein's "godless" government, portraying an invasion as an unwarranted attack against all Muslims by the United States. "The fighting should be in the name of God only, not in the name of national ideologies, nor to seek victory for the ignorant governments that rule all Arab states, including Iraq," the speaker said. "All Muslims have to begin jihad against this unjust war."
As I said before, if they get between a BUFF and it's target, there won't be enough of them left to indicate a human ever existed.

Given that bin Laden has repeatedly stated that his war on modernity had no boundaries and respects no borders, his latest spew is just as much--if not more--a call for general terrorism rather than sepecific call to go to Iraq and get slaughtered.

These people are zealots but they're not stupid enough to attack the US armed forces at their strongest point.
It's not my place in life to make people happy. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to watch me slaughter cows you hold sacred. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to have your basic assumptions challenged. If you want bunnies in light, talk to someone else.

I'd like to see the US Army start a Muslim strike group, kind of as a way to stick it to the Islamic fundies.

US military can always use live-fire target practice. It surely was thoughtful of the Taliban types to provide moving targets for us early in the war, but then they must have discovered just how unhealthy a practice that was -- worse luck. Oh well, guess we'll have to play hide and go kill with them...

Could put out a notice to all Islamists:

Servants of Allah! The Great Satan would like to meet you on Battlefield [fill in location here]! We will meet you in open battle, so that you have a grand opportunity to smite the servants of evil and enemies of Allah! Come face us at [insert date and time stamp here], or your mothers are pigdogs and your fathers will be buried in swine entrails!

At least that makes victory more satisfying.
