About 5 years ago, give or take, I built a Millennium Falcon (about a foot and a half in diameter) complete with paint and explosion smudges on the hull. It so kicked ass!. After I was done with it (I'd say 3 months) I built an Enterprise from TNG, with fiber optic lights for the windows and nacelles. Needless to say, it was awesome.

What!?? How do you paint them so well. They're so good...usually I just get fed up and paint them a single solid color. I have about 5 gundam models, 3 cars models, 1 ds9 station, 1 voyager model, 1 star wars x wing model all painted black. I call them the fleet of darkness....Muhhhahahhaha!

Currently starting a dogfight scene from Macross Plus[/b] between the YF19 and the YF 21 using Hasegawa kits...

If I were to start collecting SW or ST models, what would be a good first kit?
Good luck on finding any ST kits out there. Try ebay. Bandai is releasing an excellent E-nil kit soon, but it comes pre-painted, apparently.

I've seen already the excellent Fine Molds SW kits (TIE fighter, X-wing and the Jedi starfighter), I was wondering what other manufacters are out there,,,,

Aren't the Japanese kits for SW supposed to be pretty good? But supposed to be kind of expensive.

I'm not sure, but I think most SW stuff is out of production. I want an ISD kit so bad I can taste it. And a K'T'inga and D7 to replace the ones I lost in an incident that I shall not discuss.
