Eclipise VS AQ

I was inspired by all these one SW ship vs the entire AQ that I decide to take it a logical extreme, how much damage can a Eclpise-class command ship do to the AQ.

That is simply not even funny.

An Executor class couold wipe out the Feddies, and an Eclipse is at least 2x as strong.

wasn't there a fanfiction about a Eclipse being stuck in the Star trek universe thanks to lameway, that ship went on a shooting rampage.

what exactly are the Eclipse stats btw? What do the official sources say?

Speaking of which, am I the only one who think that the Eclipse I is completely out of charachter for our friends at Kuat Drive Yards- it barely looks anything like a dagger- it has a prow for cripes sake!

The Essential Guide states that the Eclipse is armed with 500 heavy laser cannons, 550 turbolasers, 10 gravity well generators, and a mini superlaser, although this is probably an understatement since it's going on the assumption that ISDs only have 60 turbolasers. It carries 50 squadrons of TIE Interceptors and 8 squadrons of TIE Bombers. As for its appearance, the Essential Guide claims that it was designed to resemble warships from eras long past.

Probably you mean tens of thousands of Federation ships considering the Elipse's shielding and armament.
Remember 500 HTL 1 shot=1 dead feddie ship, so one salvo from the HTLs only would be likely to kill around a hundred Fed ships.
(assuming some of the guns don't get a clear shot and many shots are missing.)

To me this sounds as if you've not seen a pic of the Eclipse.
Therefore:

The other vessels are Allegiance class.

Yes I've seen the Eclipse- and the prow is clearly similar to modern day prows on naval ships- but why bother with such a thing? It would look FAR better if that thing was done away with.

Saxton's site says the Eclipse II has much cleaner lines- can anyone post a picture? the only one up on the Technical Commentaries is pretty damn poor.

hey what do you have against the Eclipse's look this ship looks good as it is.
The Eclipse II, though, doesn't look very different from the Eclipse I, only the surface of the hull, especially of the command tower, is a bit less structured, that's all.

its the prow man, the prow! It ruins the whole thing! Think about how much cooler it'd look if it ended in the classic dagger shape rather than that stupid prow sticking out from under it for no good reason!

But hey, for a superlaser, the completely black hull, the massive construction, the hundreds upon hundreds of weapons, the grav-well generators- its pretty hard not to still like it

To asure why the Dagger is obvious
CAUSE THERES A SUPERLASER IN THERE!

Have a dagger shape and running a superlaser along the centerline is a bit of a bad idea so if you move it UNDER that and slightly outside the hull it elminates one potentional weakness.

Furthermore by scaling alone a ISD to be killed needs 100 Q-Torp Armed Defiants and four mintues to crack the shields the SSD style ships have roughly 4.5X the Shielding, and the Eclipse have roughly 2.7X that of an SSD
So 12.5 times 240 Seconds=3,000 seconds or Fifty Mintues to take down ONE Shield.....
Thats with 100 Defiants firing full spreads of Q-Torps and Lasers....

The Eclipse completely and utterly destroys everything in the quadrant, and the galaxy. No fleet exists which could defeat it. A few might, just might, mass enough firepower, but they'd be vaporized long before they could unload enough of it to accomplish anything.

The biggest Fleet the Federation has ever had could be obliterated by a single salvo from the Eclipse.

And the Eclipse could keep many systems. I think it has 5 pre-fab garrison bases, but I think that it has more, considering it's volume.

With a resupply base (which shouldn't be that hard to set up)

Bean, the superlaser isn't in the prow- IIRC from the Essential Guide that has the Eclipse- the iris for the superlaser is at the very tip of the ship- not on the prow at all.
