My russian is quite rusty but the kyrilic letters should be р = "r" and Э = "JE".

So the statue could read: "R JE 0 | 1" (Are you Zero or One).
Or "JE R 1 | 0" (You are One or Zero -> You are someone or nobody?)
Wow, so the very motto itself looks down at other people?

Yep, Apple fans alright.

Sounds more like a reference to binary code.

Why not both?

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? In Dante's Inferno there's the giant Geryon. He has a handsome human face but everything below is monstrous as he serves as an embodiment of deceit. That's what I think of when I look at this Lovecraftian contraption fresh out of R'Yleh.

Apple, sleek surface, hideous innards. Fitting!

Look again, that's pope and that anti-socialist Tu-134 crash president. Both most definitely post SR.

But then again, neither of them had any artistic taste :)

This is Serbian Cyrillic, with Latin based alphabet. IIRC there is no 'je' in Serbian, and the second letter doesn't look like 'p' either. I sent photo to 2 native Cyrillic writers, both were quite puzzled what the letters are supposed to be. Maybe melted CJ (S.J. in Latin)?

I think je is just the Cyrillic name of epsilon/e, which is backwards above. The letter above the 0 might be a. Originally they were based on Greek uncial rather than Carolingian miniscule, basically the same forms used in Coptic: Є and Ⲁ.

Yes, but there is no 'je' in Serbian Cyrillic. Check for yourself, they use 'E'. Same for their 'A', it's Latin one. The Balkan Cyrillic =/= CIS Cyrillic.

The modern Russian also uses Western style letter forms. Since many different languages use the same basic alphabet, the same letter can have different values and names. In Russian it is je and in other languages e, just like the corresponding letter in English and French has different names. All variants derive from one script which generally used a rounded form for that letter. This one bit is speculative, but it could be that some Serbians use a style that more closely resembles pre-modern forms for decorative purposes just like German and Irish. The Fraktur and Insular scripts are considered to be the Roman alphabet in different styles, even though many of the letters have very different shapes.

And reading further, it seems at one point Serbian did use the rounded form as a separate letter for je.

I can only hope that some stupid asshole will steal it only to subsequently throw it into a river. Because that's where this hideous monstrosity posing as art should be, rusting at the bottom.

I was hoping that it would represent some of his best ideologies, such as his vision for a personal computer. That was a big part of his life after all.

With this, I am unsure what it represents at all. What a waste.

If you're going to build a statue for that, Zixinus, you should probably build a statue for Wozniak instead.

Maybe if you where going to build a statue of Steve Jobs it ought to be some kind of nurgle-esque monster holding a beautiful mask over it's corpulent face whilst crowds of hipsters worship at it's dozens of feet. On the other side of the monster, hidden from the front view, you can see dozens of foxconn workers being crushed under it's bloated bulk while a crying Steve Wozniak is being pushed into a corner by a tentacled appendage that is also holding dollar bills. Meanwhile an angelic Bill Gates watches over the carnage with sadness in his eyes, as he administers aid and healing to the poor and sick of the world.

That said I guess I am probably buying an ipad.

Throw in Linus Torvalds in the background making a rude gesture and I'm sold.
