How on Earth did that happen? :o

I'd be interested to hear the story.

You really have to just watch the replay. Click on it for the DL link and post-match summary from wotreplays.

Basically, it went like this: "Okay, this tank is dead, now I have to kill this one" until the match ended.

Also managed to actually make use of an HE shell at the end.

Replay from a couple of days ago showcasing pew pew from VK3002D

Turned out well, though at the start I was mostly raging about how that Comet just would not die (and had I been able to secure the middle earlier I should have been able to save my toonmate).

In this I manage to not suck in an auto-loading tank! One of the rare times that happens unfortunately.

I've a feeling the US autoloader line is going to be a little easier to get on with than the French one, the T71 has more pen than the 13 75 and a fast drum reload.

I'll be going for one soon, should be a fun tank.

The T71 is a wonderful tank and the T69 it leads into is also pretty fun to zip around in.

Ace Tankerer in 50 100 achieved.

Also: The one that got away

The AMX 50 100 is unquestionably the highlight of the French heavy line, and probably my favourite tier 8 tank so far.

Yeah, ninja stealth assassinating a bishop before ever being spotted (aka ammo-racked), then luring their panzer 4 to defend cap and murdering him their team really fell apart. Still fun, but you have to be way more careful about being ninja than you used to.

A couple of nice games on Komarin:

Game one

The enemy held the island for most of the game and our attack along the west stalled, but we held the east, eventually drove them off the island, and cleaned up the west.

Game two

Closer game this time, the enemy pushes west hard and grinds down our tanks there, they have more east as well but they meet a solid push from our team and that ends with only me left. Endgame is a two man carry between me lurking in the forest and my toonmate giving vision control from the island. I beg for Radley Walters at the end.

you got to love how the game and forums suddenly go down without any warning at all, then 30 minutes later they backdate a notice into the launcher window saying it's going to be down for several hours.

why do some people give this company money again?

Actually, that server maintenance announcement was put up yesterday, I saw it then.

I just bought the WTE-100, and fucking hell, this thing is literally failproof. I haven't done less than 2800 damage in a match, and am averaging 4300. Good work, Wargaming balance team.

So this match was a massive surprise that I wasn't even sure was happening even as it happened:

Image

Especially shocking since my survival rate is an astounding 15.25%, and my average kills per match is... uh... 0.59. Oh, and my win rate is 50.1%. (I might be kinda awful at this game).

On the one hand, T-54 = Communist Jesus, on the other hand would it have killed my team to at least shoot a tank from time to time?

the TOG is awesome, it's a loss, but awesome. note how quickly the rest of our team dies and yet we still kicked ass. disregard most of the chatter, for some reason the system GunNut uses to record replays picks up everyone but the recorder's voice and it's teamspeak chat from after the game anyway.

Quick tip for dealing with AT-8, as your commentary says you had trouble with it:

Image

Unlike the rest of the british TDs, don't shoot the cupola on the top, the machinegun turret and optics there tend to eat shells due to troll rounding.

Shoot that yellow bit on the left. It's only ~80mm thick and just about any tank that meets AT-8s can trivially penetrate it.
