Me on TV
I told you all a while back that I'd show up on the History Channel eventually. Well, eventually was apparently two days ago, and I missed it. One of my NCO's said he saw me taking notes while my brigade commander was issuing guidance to his staff. Guess I'll have to see if I can order a tape...

Got any specifics on what the show was on and when? I may have seen you but I'm not sure.

Was it "mail call", because I remember a piece about TOC with a bunch of Army officers sitting around taking note on a op order.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

I will miss out on this one. The SBCT's aren't fully stood-up yet.Captain tycho wrote:Speaking of which, are you by any chance in Iraq as of the moment?
All I heard was that it was a couple of days ago on the History Channel It did take place in our BDE TOC, so you should have seen a SmartBoard with a map projected on it behind me, or a series of six stacked LCD screens. Again, I missed it.Knife wrote:Was it "mail call", because I remember a piece about TOC with a bunch of Army officers sitting around taking note on a op order.
Yup, 'mailcall'. They did a section on the TOC. Set up, breakdown, ect.. They also showed a few shots of a Col giving some sort of briefing with a bunch of Lt's and Cpt's sitting around in cammie paint, taking notes (only assuming it was some sort of op order). They also showed the staff working on various computers and showed the six paned central screen (mfd?) along with other pieces of gear.jegs2 wrote:All I heard was that it was a couple of days ago on the History Channel It did take place in our BDE TOC, so you should have seen a SmartBoard with a map projected on it behind me, or a series of six stacked LCD screens. Were you the one with glasses on durring the briefing? Thats the only one that stuck out in my mind due to the rest were just a bunch of guy's in cammies and warpaint, except the Col, and I know you don't have a bird on your shoulder.

Has anyone else been on TV before?
I've been on:
You've Been Framed (funny home videos show) - I fell off my bike and got £250 for it. Score!
Match of the Day - At a Leeds Vs Newcastle match a few years back.

I was on TV for winning my grade 4 science project (forget which network), then again on french CBC on some after school TV show skit, then on english CBC for an intro for another after school program, and another time for some news program on "literature week" or something where they interviewed my high school class (which I always remember because the class 'cute' girl stands to say something, and my idiot friend 'scans' her up and down, all caught on TV... he'll never live that down )
That's about it I think. Doesn't exactly count for my 15 minutes of fame, still waiting on that.

Yeah, I saw that on Mailcall, though I'd need to see it again to pick you out.jegs2 wrote:All I heard was that it was a couple of days ago on the History Channel It did take place in our BDE TOC, so you should have seen a SmartBoard with a map projected on it behind me, or a series of six stacked LCD screens.
