Agreed. The Risian Corvette is at least interesting. Plus it's a fun escort to derp around in.

See, that Dyson Science Destroyer? Wanky little ship, but why not. I haven't played the game long enough to see any of the other event ships, but the Risian Corvette looked like a cute little ship for shit and giggles. This one? If you want to re-enact that SNL 'Love Boat' skit, sure...

Every time they do a major update (i.e. an expansion pack or a new season), they take the editor and reviewing systems offline and do an automated republish of all missions, then give us a week with the editor turned on and reviews still off to fix any update-induced bugs. It's something they learned to do after season 4 IIRC: The update broke a bunch of missions, which led to the Foundry community getting a slew of undeserved bad reviews.

This time around something weird happened during the transition to the new ESD, breaking roughly every Foundry mission that used ESD (which is a lot of them), so they gave us the editor back early for a couple of weeks, then this week took it back down to implement an automated fix.

that sounds logical after all it was rather major overhaul of the ESD they did, just a quick question but making foundry missions costs just in game currency right, meaning I don't need any Zen for it?

Correct. 10k dilithium = 4 Foundry mission slots.

I just wish they would quit making everything cost dil, or raise how much it's worth to fleet projects.

As far as I can tell they fire blue instead of the orange-red normal phasers shoot. Other than that I couldn't tell any difference.

Yep, they're just blue to match the Wing Cannons the Andorian ships come with. Nothing more than that.

should be noted that Startfleet and KDF didn't "work together" until Dyson Joint Command an RRF administrated Project in late 2409, the Omega Taskforce was them simply choosing not to fight in front on the borg but there's little to no cooperation between MACOs and the Honor Guard and the when it was present it was a case of "lesser of 2 evils", it actually makes perfect sense when to assume to that Klingon High Council and the Federation Council can in fact do intelligent desission.

After all the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Sosialist Republics were for all intents and purposes at war from 1945 until the death of the USSR in 1990s and other western powers were at war with the USSR since it's birth in 1920 or so, with world war II being a brief pause due mutual intrests. Sure there wasn't many actual battles and even when there was it was generally between proxies rather then the major players fighting each other, but then there weren't that many major battles in the Klingon-UFP war during 2409 either, mostly just minor skirmishes involving less then dozen ships on both sides.

You got to remener that a war is about gaining political objectives via capture of strategic assests of the enemy, not to kill the enemy so if something arises that makes fighting that enemy counter to gaining those political objectives a tempory or permament ceasefire may be called as to do otherwise would be stupid.

And Thruthfully the treaty of Qu'nos was really just a formal acceptance of what was more or less already happened with the Klingon-UFP war having ended in practice with the Dyson Joint Command.

sorry for the wall of text but that's that.

Btw has anyone gotten the Risan Luxury Cruiser yet or knows if it's any good in combat?

also possibly slightly off-topic but I'm trying to diversify my human bridge-officers, does anyone know a good last name male character who is suppose to be of Japanese origin (as in born in Japan itself), preferbly one that would easy for an english speaker to pronounce (oh and if you got suggestions for first name I welcome those too).

The Love Boat? Hell no. I don't play Star Trek to go on Carnival Cruises. The one they offered last year was at least interesting-- it's like a cigarette-racer STO boat-- but this one? Ugh. No.

I've run out of steam. I'm not sure why. The Risa event was just kind of grindy, and it was pretty lame that you could only get 40 pearls per day (going for the corvette rather than the cruiser). I know, it's all about getting people on to play during the special event, but... meh.

Well, yeah. Play missions in the Reputation Systems, there's more XII loot in there. Play as a Fed level 50 in Sirius Sector and pick up a Klingon skirmish, you'll only get level I through V loot in there.

If you're talking about the Normal/Advanced/Elite thing, then yes you do. You can also get injuries on your ship and crew, but it's a tradeoff.

Whether or not it's really worth it is debatable.

Given the increased time it can take to kill enemies at, say 50, I'd say it's not really worth it.

For elite, you really need a solid team of friends to knock out any content , either space or ground. Now, if your sole goal is to get an epic fight regardless of where you go? elite is what you want.

I agree with Whitehaven though, if they had different sliders for space and ground combat difficulty, I'd never change it from elite space difficulty. Ground is still a pain in the balls.

Huh. Haven't been on STO in awhile. At this point I'm still feeling like I'm a couple expansions behind... I haven't even done anything with crafting yet. Supposedly it's a lot more useful now. Supposedly...
