It may be the fact that Disney's target market is children, and when you're a kid, talking lions are fucking awesome, whereas this poll is asking adults, who may find Aladdin's characters more relatable.

On the list? Alladin and The Lion King tie for me.

Of course The Incredibles is incredible and Up, if I can get past the opening montage without committing suicide, and Wall-E fill out the amazing movies not on this list.

I think it has a lot more to do with the themes of Lion King playing well with kids, rather than just being about Lions. Escaping responsibility, growing up/coming of age, accepting responsibility, and saving the day through violence. Well, not so much the violence, but Simba fights Scar straight up, while Aladdin has to result to trickery to defeat Jafar. That's probably going to play better for adults than children.

And whereas the Aladdin soundtrack was great, Lion King means no worries for the rest of your days!

Honestly, with respect to The Lion King, I don't like it as much simply because I feel it gets an inordinate amount of praise for a Disney film. Sure, it is a great movie, but I simply enjoy other Disney films better, but The Lion King is often cited as the end-all be-all of Disney animated quality. Not logical, sure, but fuck it.

Personally, I preferred Wall-E, Up, & The Rescuers Down Under to any of the above movies.

I prefer Sleeping Beauty or Snow White over Cinderalla (Gothic elements help a lot here), and Aladdin is a more fun movie than Lion King for me. On the Pixar side WALL-E, Incredibles and Wreck-It Ralph are the ones I like best.

My appreciation for The Lion King grew much more after watching the stage musical. Most disney movies have memorable songs, but Lion King also has a memorable soundtrack overall.

Wreck-It Ralph is not Pixar.

That is all.

Addendum: Maleficent in Disney's Sleeping Beauty is my favorite movie dragon ever, hands-down, since ~Age 5.

Sleeping Beauty: Accept no fucking substitute.

Great animation and Elandor Audley as the quintessential Disney villain.

The Jungle Book and Robin Hood. I'm probably also one of the few people who really likes the animated Hercules.

The first two were funny and had good/catchy music. The music in Hercules was okay but I like it more for the goofy version
of Greek mythology and the whole bit with Hercules being a wealthy celebrity before becoming a real hero.

I agree, watching the musical tainted my vote :P
