If not, I think we ought to have one, DALnet would be my reccomendation since it allows longer nick's and you can register your nick's there too.

Maybe something like #SD.Net or #StarDestroyer.net?

Last time I checked, DALnet was down due to massive DDoS attacks, so that's not really an option.

Yep, still down. Looks like it might be down for good, or at least severely crippled if it does crawl out of this.

Yep, still down. Looks like it might be down for good, or at least severely crippled if it does crawl out of this.

DALnet is back up, has been for some time, whatever local server you use, might be down for good tho.

NO!!! Not DALnet, NEVER, EVER DALNET!

My oldest IRC haunt was on DALnet; the channel had been there for seven years, and recently it packed up its bags and moved to EsperNet because the network is falling apart. Trust me on this one, you do NOT want DALnet. Other networks offer services like nick registration and such just as well.

I've always suggested Dal-net for these things and no one listens.. and it happens to be that Dalnet is up and has been for some time now... and I didn't know you were on DALnet HDS...

I recommend gamesnet... Although we're not really about games, they have stable and fast servers...

Most importantly, I'm already registed there. I guess galaxynet is also a valid option...

About all this various network shit(Dalnet, effnet, gamesnet, galaxynet), well... The buck stops here.

Anyone just going to their respective networks and hoping that people will follow them will just damage the overall effort by splitting up users.

Hmm I got on #SDnet today and the thing gave me an @ (Op status). Despite the fact I was the only d00f in the room, I don't remember that happening. LOL

It's been doing that lately. Gives it to whoever gets there first, and will give it to them again if they leave then come back while there are other people there. Did it with HDS the other day.

How to register your nick on the irc.wyldryde.net IRC

Log onto the irc server with your choicen nick
"/msg nickserv register <Password> [<email>]"

Dont forget you password(duh), email is optional but a good idea.
