Coal Rollers - Toxic Manbaby Love

Re: Coal Rollers - Toxic Manbaby Love
I just finished up a graduate course in atmospheric aerosols and one of the things we learned is that from a health perspective, there is no safe level of air pollution. Even at the natural background levels (meaning no particles of anthropogenic origin), there's some poor bastards who will die since their weakened systems can't handle the pollution. And increased emissions means increased deaths. Air pollution isn't localized either. Even ground level emissions can take weeks to be removed by deposition and can travel long distances in that time.
What this all means is just about every emission contributes in a small way to someone's early demise. Now everyone, including the victims, contribute to this pool of death (or The Dead Pool if you prefer). You can't escape this in our modern world, but to deliberately boost your emissions in such a frivolous and malicious manner really is the height of assholery. Of course you can't link specific small emissions like this directly to a particular death, you're dealing with statistics, but collectively air pollution is a major killer and whatever any of us can do to limit our activities that can be linked to emissions, can perhaps collectively prolong a life or two.

Something tells me they won't "coal roll" someone who looks like another member of their little cult of masculinity.Simon_Jester wrote:Hm.
I wonder what fraction of coal rollers are also gun rights advocates. And what fraction of those would grasp the irony if someone who got coal-rolled developed a sharp enough burst of road-rage to put a few rounds from a firearm into the back of the roller's truck.

We won't mention what the coal roller would do the first time that happens.Borgholio wrote:Or you can fight smoke with...color.

Honestly, it's as bad an idea as any kind of retaliation that doesn't involve the police. My advice is to just use a go pro or similar dash cam to record it and report the bastards.Chimaera wrote:So basically, this is the first step to open tactical warfare on the roads? Seems legit: you were acting in self-defense.Simon_Jester wrote:Hm.

Just wait for one of these clouds of smoke to cause an incident.
Although the idea that it will take until something happens like a car crash or a smoke war is the height of stupidity.
If they want to blow massive amounts of smoke on private land - Discourage it maybe but it is within their right
If they take these things on the road - This should be getting them busted with fines and impounding of the vehicle if they keep doing this shit.
I cannot fathom why you would not go after people creating obstructive clouds of smoke on public roads which could easily lead to accidents. The pollution aspect should not have to enter the discussion about this activity being dangerous.

It is singularly difficult to tell by looking at someone whether they have a pistol in the glove compartment.Gandalf wrote:Something tells me they won't "coal roll" someone who looks like another member of their little cult of masculinity.
I'm not saying this SHOULD happen, only that the irony appeals to me.

I for one say this needs further analysis and investigation. For science, of course.Simon_Jester wrote:It is singularly difficult to tell by looking at someone whether they have a pistol in the glove compartment.Gandalf wrote:Something tells me they won't "coal roll" someone who looks like another member of their little cult of masculinity.

Yeah, I've always taken the subtext of the Birther movement to be, "The rules don't count here! This is different! HE'S BLACK! BLACK, I SAY! ARE YOU ALL BLIND!?

Re: Coal Rollers - Toxic Manbaby Love
This trend seems to be getting a lot more attention now and the more I see it just makes it seem utterly stupid. These people are literally fucking themselves over by spending thousands to make their vehicles into giant asshole indicators and then inflicting it on random targets.
I saw a video of some fuckwit deciding to blast a bunch of cyclists - Yay, so if your cycling down the road it clearly makes you out to be an environmentalist deserving of being blasted in the face with a black cloud of shit. I seriously want to see these people cause an accident which gets them sued to oblivion because obstructing vision is a really smart thing to do to other drivers.
Just the kind of thing communities will like to have gigantic black clouds of soot being spread over buildings, roads, cars and clothes. The police should be all over that and fining the crap out of these people.
What is next ?
Assholes going around spraying aerosols on people in confined areas ?

Re: Coal Rollers - Toxic Manbaby Love
This bit of news is a really good outrage-maker. I'm been fuming over this for hours. If I were drinking tea I'd be spewing it comically while dropping my imaginary monocle.
Seriously though, not only are the people doing this modifying their vehicles to do something that is actually bad for the vehicle but do it for no other reason then to be assholes. Making your car unnecessary loud is not enough, just annoying people clearly doesn't give them a strong enough erection, they have to make it spew poisonous gas.
What if that woman in the video didn't smoke and had asthma? What if the smoke is enough to cause her an attack and these assholes left her on the road while she needs to call an ambulance? Then see these assholes in front of court going "it turns out that spewing poisonous gas can trigger a violent asthma attack, who knew?"
Some people clearly do not deserve to have cars.

I have to wonder, isn't deliberately blowing toxic fumes into people's faces some sort of assault and therefore a criminal act? I can't think of any angle by which this could be considered a protected action, Freedom of Expression doesn't exactly mean that you can freely go around and poison people after all.
I also wonder what the next step up would be. Loading a shotgun with rock salt and blowing people away that "annoy" you?

People at birth are naturally good. Their natures are similar, but their habits make them different from each other.
