Jedi Power Increase

Post by Shocker »

Why does it seem that Jedi's later in the Star Wars Universe (ie Luke Skywalker swatting AT-AT's down or Jedi "padawans?" moving ISD's out of systems casually in Darksaber) seem to have shown greater force ability then those in earlier canon such as 200 jedi losing to thousands of droids or Jedi being killed by bounty hunters?

Hmm... just a theory, but, let's see:

The Force encompasses all, but, as you know, only certain people have more of the Force within them.

Just a theory, but, what with fewer jedi knights than before the days of the Old Republic, perhaps Force saturation increased when the Jedi numbers were smaller.

If not, bear in mind that, by highlighting Luke, you do remember that he was the one that was to restore Order to the Force, and that he was Anakin's son.

Also, I am taking most of my information from within the movies, so, expanded universe won't count, at least for the first part of this case:

Perhaps it did increase later on. But, it could either be due to Force stauration, or Luke rebalancing the Force....

Not really comparable situations, said Jedi would have died even faster had they started to have some seanse in the middle of the battlefield, plus there was no jedi temple of magical properties to hepl either, plus there's the "shroud of the dark side" also in AOTC.

Not to mention they burned Dorsk to a crisp and they all brushed against the dark side doing it.

In part because the Old Jedi Order imposed control because using that much power leaves things clouded with the dark side. With enough sheer power (even for the right reasons) you start to be clouded by the power it self.

The Old Jedi Order took steps to prevent that kind of thing. Strict rules on how they use power and how much. On the contrary the New Jedi Order didn't, indeed didn't know and it's probably why there are a lot of the problems they had.

I would say that it is the result of the Balance of the Force being restored, and the Jedi becoming more powerful after RotJ.

...and I would say that some writer done a shitty job...

Several padawans pushing away 17 ISDs from orbit to another system...that was stupid. Darksaber is on my Top 10 shitty SW books.

Of course Barbara Hambly is occupying the first places...

Although he managed to bungle the backstory of Thrawn and the Outbound Flight not once, but twice in a row...

Excuse me, but lets not forget who wrote Darksaber............
"If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little."
-George Carlin (1937-2008)

"Have some of you Americans actually seen Football? Of course there are 0-0 draws but that doesn't make them any less exciting."
-Dr Roberts, with quite possibly the dumbest thing ever said in 10 years of SDNet.
