I´m not visiting North Korea until it is possible to go there without being part of a guided tour. I find traveling with guides and groups rather off putting.
However, if you enjoy groups and guides there is really nothing to keep you from going there. It isn´t dangerous and you won´t get imprisoned. You´ll go on a tour with guides and be forced to visit some silly propaganda museums. They want your money. They don´t want to lock you up. Pyonyang is supposed to be pretty cool because it is one of the only metropoles without neon lights or advertisments in any form.

However, you should probably read the thread instead of just jumping on my post. I wasn´t the one who brought up NK.

Pyongyang is not the only adless city. Minsk is much more friendly... And you can live there and go everywhere without any restrictions. Then again, it is possible the DPRK will somehow change and one will also be able to go there without a guided tour.

Going somewhere and supporting something are different, though. You do not support poverty by going to Indonesia, just as you do not support anarchy by simply going to Somalia. You can, theoretically, do it because you support it, but it is not a causal relationship by default.
