Holy shit. I don't usually use the word "nergasm," because I find it kind of obnoxious, self-serving, and lame. But ... I can't think of any other way to describe how I feel after watching that trailer 3 times in a row. Like, I think I actually need to drink some tea and lie down just to slow my heart rate.

If that's Revan's mask, I will fucking giggle, I swear to god.
Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
I'd love if it is Revan's mask if this Sith is collector of things that are nodding to EU left and right for we of the nerd collective while the average moviegoer says "oooh that looks cool" kind of like the Collector did in Guardians.Lagmonster wrote:If that's Revan's mask, I will fucking giggle, I swear to god.

1:33 - "Chewie. We're home."
Best scene in the whole trailer.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
~Amazing! Really good feelings about this.
Thoughts...
The stormtroopers being presented to are on an ice world base... Hoth? Also some of the troops at the back have backpacks - heavy weapons? Snow troopers? The Emblem on the big red flag is not the Imperial symbol... could be a successor state to the Empire as its got even more spokes than before.
The new Star Destroyer does have a command tower but it seem much smaller and set further back lower against the hull with a single dome - its bottom hull is much bigger than the top giving it a pretty cool bruiser look.
Those ships we see escorting the dark wing like ship in the star destroyer scene also appear inside the hanger battle scene.
The Chrome trooper appears to be more than just a storm trooper, he strikes me as a main/secondary villain or something.
The 1:11 guy doesn't look that much like Revan to me but he seems to be fighting on a lava type world, the storm troopers with him seem to be normal new ones.
Chewy doesn't seem to have noticeably aged...
The ship the Falcon flies into looks like an upside down buried Executor to me?

Based on the fact that the character is seen walking around the corridor alone, so that we cannot gauge his or her height relative to other characters, I am speculating that the chrome trooper at the 1:20 mark is Gwendoline Christie's character.Darth Tanner wrote:The Chrome trooper appears to be more than just a storm trooper, he strikes me as a main/secondary villain or something.

The new TIEs seem to have their turbolasers mounted in a turret now.
The TIE in the landing bay scene fired backwards or at least it looked like the engine was pointed towards the camera.

If it is an Executor, then there must have been a hell of a battle over this world. I hope they go into the backstory of what's been happening since Endor.

Small note: Isn't it odd that Luke say "The Force is strong in my family, My Father Has it.."
- Has it instead of past tense Had it - , I would think Luke would use past tense about Anakin/Vader.

I noticed that too. He used the same words and inflection that he did on Endor, but it did sound different. Maybe Anakin's ghost is still hanging around?- Has it instead of past tense Had it - , I would think Luke would use past tense about Anakin/Vader.

Flame thrower troops... their the guys that appear mixed in with the normal troopers on the ice world base.
The flying black wing ship appears to be an imperial shuttle but its Imperial white in the art... maybe the Sith has his own black one?

I had a very strong ROTJ feel from this trailer. Quite epic and yet had some nice moments. I rather like the direction.

Turns out that a five way cross over between It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Ali G Show, Fargo, Idiocracy and Veep is a lot less funny when you're actually living in it.

J.J. Abrams have revealed the name of the desert planet in the trailers and it's not Tatooine nor post apocalypse Endor but instead a planet named Jakku.

Nope. I could build that in a week though, I'd bet. It looks like a standard ISD that has had bits chopped off of it.Galvatron wrote:Is that new ship not one of your designs?fractalsponge1 wrote:They chopped off the bridge of the ISD.

The bridge tower is obviously gone, and the module looks a lot lower and smaller relative to the original. The terraces are simplified compared to the original (looks like 3 stacked layers rather than the more blended structure in the original). The top of the prow has als obeen chopped away. Either a hangar bay or turret or more terrace in place of the tip of the dagger. No idea what'll be there until we see another shot.

Oh hells yes. That looks absolutely gorgeous. It looks like it'll be very much its own beast, but retaining that 'feel'. God damn it all, I am hopeful.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
If those ships fell to the surface from space due to battle damage and they are still looking that good we can draw some conclusions regarding SW ship durability. Unless they fell there while fighting in the atmosphere and if that's the case then that sucks. We can still draw conclusions from that.
