70's isn't that old, especially with Star Trek medical technology. And it would be nice to see some more characters.

What about Dax? Ezri was pretty young in Deep Space 9. Maybe Bashire as well.

And I recall that Kira is still alive according to the game. I think it was said that she's the leader of Bajor now.

sure 70s isn't that old that if they really wanted to they'd could do it, but it's good excuse for them to not have those characters present.

Isn't Alexander Siddig busy with Game of Thrones so that might prevent Bashir from being in game.

Dunno what Nana Visitor is doing these days though.

I think most of the TNG cast is too expensive? I know they've said they've wanted them in the past; actually being able to hire them is another thing.

There's also CinC Starfleet, who is not in fact Admiral Quinn. The Head Writer has said that's somebody special and she knows who it is. Guess we'll have to wait and see if/when that reveal is ever made.

Picard maybe? But he'd be really old.

Please don't be Janeway, please don't be Janeway, please don't be Janeway...

Picard retired to become ambassador to Vulcan...and is retired from that too IIRC.

Janeway...I think she's been mentioned already, so she's out. I'm honestly at a loss as to who it could be.

Janeway current status is unknown atm IIRC and anyway I think Kate Mulgrew might too expensive for them to hire, shame as she's a great voice actor.

Riker is possiblity as well as I said it was mentioned that Riker is in active service and an Admiral though it was not mentioned what grade of admiral he is.

Geordi La Forge is a possibility. All we know is that he became the Captain of the Challenger, so they could bring him in if they wanted to.

With all the temporal shenanigans of late, I think it's pretty obvious they're bringing in Fleet Admiral Archer.

...you may not be far off; the next lock-box is going to be Xindi. Looks like they're going to have Xindi as a part of Season 10, as well...

Holy shit big patch. 3133 MB. Probably has something to do with how they're going to remove the sector walls and allow people to simply fly direct...

well they pretty much had to redo all of sector space so, not mention add the new content, so it's not so surpricing that patch is rather large, I just hope there's no major game breaking bugs in the new content.

I would have been okay if all they did was have a load sequence where it temporarily loops a video of your ship flying through blank space as you transited from sector to sector... but it's nice that you won't have to wait around, I suppose?

I have to say that one of my fears proved thankfully not to be true and the Heralds are nasty both on ground and in space, without being "has annoying cheap tricks but isn't really hard to beat without those tricks" of the Vaadwaur.

Haven't played much in a while. I'll have to check it out.

Does anyone else feel kind of sad whenever they hear Nimoy's voice in the game?

Still, it seems nice that Nimoy is still a part of Star Trek. Not just old episodes and such, but an ongoing thing.

So, they updated the map system, and it makes things seem a lot bigger, even if it is just squishing all the maps together.

I haven't heard Nimoy (I'm deaf) so meh. But I did see the new Spock memorial on Vulcan. It's nice.

Still working through my Delta Recruit. Only up to 25 right now. Oh well.

I finally went back to playing this game and got in a nice little battle with some Undine ships at a Dyson sphere.

Also, damn, that was a big patch.

And I see the map has changed somewhat.

btw that special chat you got invited is something my fleet has made for friends and fleet members so that we can discuss things and such, if you want to join need to to active the invite from the chat settings though.

"somewhat" is an understatement if you mean the sector space.

Okay, thanks.

I'll probably be on again tonight or tomorrow.

And yeah, the map did look quite different.

I really need to go back to my Romulan character.

For some reason 'City on the Edge of Forever' isn't popping up for me though I should be getting it. Oh well. At least I managed to finish that Borg battle zone thing. So fucking annoying. Should have Klingons next if I go for that.
