GoG now with Star Trek
GoG now features the first Star Trek games:
Star Trek - 25th Anniversary
Star Trek - Judgment Rites
Star Trek - Starfleet Academy
Hopefully they will get the licenses for the other Star Trek games too.

Got Starfleet Academy. I played it as a kid, and loved it. Still love it today. It's like a Trek version of Wing Commander.

Man I hope they get Birth of the Federation, maybe not the best game, but I had a lot of fun with it
This odyssey, this, exodus. Do we journey toward the promised land, or into the valley of the kings? Three decades ago I envisioned a new future for our species, and now that we are on the brink of realizing my dream, I feel only solitude, and regret. Has my entire life's work been a fool's crusade? Have I led my people into this desert, only to die?

My favorite was the 'Starship Creator' game. Not so much because of the game which was bland, but because of the soundtrack. To me, it was glorious...

I'm hoping that Armarda 1 and 2 turn up. Had lots of fun with those as a sprog.

They were pretty good, except for the plots. But the funniest part is ST: Nemesis basically ripping off the basic plot of 'Star Trek: Armada 1' with the Borg cloning Picard.Dartzap wrote:I'm hoping that Armarda 1 and 2 turn up. Had lots of fun with those as a sprog.

I'd still love to see Birth of the Federation done right...
Re: GoG now with Star Trek
I remember buying a 3d Graphics card for the first time because of Armada 1. And then there was the good old Star Wars vs Star Trek mod lol.Dartzap wrote:I'm hoping that Armarda 1 and 2 turn up. Had lots of fun with those as a sprog.

What I really want to see is Bridge Commander. That was a... perhaps unexciting game, but it had some really good moments, and it was pretty sweet being able to fly a proper Trek ship for the first time.

STO's space battles are pretty close, but IIRC Bridge Commander had the option to conduct the battles from your virtual starship bridge Trek-style. That was fun.

Re: GoG now with Star Trek
my main gripe with bridge commander "bridge view" was that it wasn't really more then a clunkier version of the "cockpit view" of the X-wing series, they really didn't take advantage of the fact that starships can have wider firing arcs.Elheru Aran wrote:STO's space battles are pretty close, but IIRC Bridge Commander had the option to conduct the battles from your virtual starship bridge Trek-style. Re: GoG now with Star Trek
kobayashi maru mod for Bridge Commander was the greatest thing ever, a ton of ships added in, updated all the existing ones. Plus, the mod community was great for adding in extra ships. Bridge Commander was awesome when you could fight Star Trek ships with a Stargate universe BC-303 with Asgard upgrades.
