The illustration of the Executor looks completely out of scale. I guess they're going to reiterate the five-mile fallacy...

Who wants to bet they're going to just copy most of the stuff from the old Essential Guide, and just add a bunch of new fallacious information?

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

After just one look at the picture, I would say "compared to the Executor from the movies". The bridge in that picture is just way too big compared to the rest of the ship.

Lord of the Farce hit the nail on the head. The bridge tower is far out of proportion to the one we saw in the movie, which was a stock KDY tower.

I don't see Saxton's name anywhere on it, so I think it's safe to assume it'll be filled with the usual bullshit.

It doesn't look right but that might be because of the truly atrocious persepective drawing they used. Whoever drew that should have their fingers broken.

Not only that, it barely resembles an Executor.

I will second that opinion. I like the squared off tail section, myself.

It seems considerably thicker than an Executor, perhaps as much as 3x as thick for its length.

The N1 looks squat, and the AT-TE or whatever the fuck the walker is, has it's legs to damned extended, making it seem taller than the movie. I was never good at tech drawings, in fact I loathe them, but I could prolly grab a ruller and do better. One thing Doug Chiang had going for him, he was a damn good tech artist. I believe he drew the original. Book comes out in Oct. Hopefully, with it being in full color no less, it will go back on previous mistakes, but like a lot of things I've seen, they don't even bother using the movies for refernce.

Damn, this can be bad, who knows what inconsistent garbage these people might fill the book with?

If Saxton is not involved in this book at all, then there is no quality assurance and I do fear that this is one big heap o' crap.

And I am very sure that Saxton is not involved in this since it's from Del Rey, nor DK publishing

Hmmm, it has the YV ships... On the one hand I am interested in seeing what they actually look like, on the other, I despise the NJO and don't really want anything to do with it. I am torn!

I think we can stop having ulcers over the illustrations. They match the style of the artist from The New Essential Guide to Characters, and really are unrelated to the tech pictures (which matter) and the data on the ships.

We'll see what we get, but I fear it'll be bullshit and reinstitute the now 8 mile fallacy.

Three years after the Battle of Naboo, the Jedi traveled to the strange world that was rumored to be home to the fastest starships in the galaxy.

The master Sekotan shipbuilders grew their vessels organically. Their starships were not only fast, but were magnificent living beings.

As long as they don't go with any numbers, it shouldn't be an issue.
