Crappy Dads, Round Three!!

Post by Yogi »

Well, in the last exciting matchup. Ikari Gendo was declared the worse father, while Ned Flanders is shown to be not utterly hopeless. Now we come to Round Three, in which it's Ikari Gendo vs. Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader in who you would entrust your kids to in the event that something tragic befalls you.

To summerize the two compeditors

Ikari:Dropped his kid at a relative and only called him when he needed him.
Skywalker:Tried to contact his kid as soon as he knew he existed

Ikari:Offered his son an important position in his Orginization, but never really told him anything.
Skywalker:Offered his son the second in command position in his Orginization.

Ikari:Has shown himself to be kind.
Skywalker:Is very rarely kind.

Ikari:All pissy at the world because his wife died.
Skywalker:All pissy at the world for a large number of reasons, probably still a lot more we don't know about.

Ikari:Had his own kid threaten to kill him.
Skywalker:Had his own kid try to kill him.

Ikari:Takes "No" for an answer.
Skywalker:Doesn't take "No" for an answer.

Ikari:Said he was sorry for what he did to his kid before he died.
Skywalker:Sacrificed himself to save his kid.

Ikari:Ordered the LCL in the entry plug to be turned to maximum.
Skywalker:Chopped off his kid's hand.

Ikari:Sleeps with his subordinates.
Skywalker:Strangles his subordinates.

Ikari:Teaches his child to be indipendent.
Skywalker:Teaches his child to give in to his anger and hate.

So, who whould YOU choose to raise your kid?

Vader would be the best choice, as he is 1) Second in command of a galaxy spanning empire and 2) He would make my kid a Sith (if he was Force sensitive).

Vader: Your son becomes a kickass Sith warrior.
Ikari: Your son becomes a sissy.

I'd rather leave my kids with Anakin, because if they shut up and join the Dark Side, they'll be just fine once I get back from my daydreams after a day or two.

In my opinion, no matter how much of an utter asshole Gendo is, he never sunk to the depths of asshole-ness that Anakin Skywalker has done. If you look at the situation in all seriousness, having your child become a Sith Lord is NOT a good thing.

That would be interesting, a kid raised by Homer Simpson, Ned Flanders, Ikari Gendo, and Anakin Skywalker all at once.

Vader. He would raise my child to be a reentless go-getter. And ould teach him to use his deep loathing hatred to his advantage.

Luke could kick the shit out of Shinji, and he's got a better fashion sense.

Anakin wins.

Vader by a wide margin.

I know that everyone gets their opinion, but this is really beginning to annoy me. Are those of you that voted for Vader saying that having your child turn into an evil, sadistic, and cruel person is really better than him being a very confused, but essencially good hearted kid?

Besides, Vader didn't raise Luke.
