Well, that didn’t take long.
The Dent County Commission in southern Missouri voted unanimously Monday to lower flags in “mourning” for a year over the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage.
On Tuesday, Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles said the commission was reversing itself. He said the body would meet Tuesday or Wednesday to rescind the order “out of respect for veterans and those currently serving in the military,” the Salem News reported.
Wouldn’t you love to know who applied the hammer?
Skiles told the newspaper that all three commissioners are expected to vote to rescind the order.
Skiles was the ringleader here. He had filed a letter into the public record that protested “the U.S. high court’s stamp of approval of what God speaks of as an abomination.”
