VI for Stas Bush

OK, y'all know me. I usually vote to keep people around; I think the last person I agreed to get rid of was Pavel. Stas Bush is really starting to grate, though. I don't mind that he disagrees with me. Heck, I disagree with near everyone here at some point or another. This guy's not even really debating, though. He just sits there and says "shut up, that's not what Russian government or Liddel Hart said." He said to read Zhukov. The moment I pointed out Zhukov was who I had been quoting he ignored my argument completely. In my opinion, he is acting the troll, and should be labeled accordingly. However, I do know I'm somewhat hot-headed, so tell me whether I'm reading the situation right or if I just need more sleep. The thread is here, but be warned that it runs for 3 1/2 pages (so far).

It's the "Stas Bush and Skimmer" thread in Politics. And yes, VI for no debatey-watey! I've heard of Russians ignoring allied contributions during WWII, but the Cold War is over, people!

Click on the blue "here" in my first post. The pointless part starts about 2/3 of the page down, and pretty much involves me, Shep, and Stas (couple others also, but I think we've pretty much filled up 2 1/2 pages covering the same points multiple times)

Cold War is over.
It would be strange for me, whose family suffered under Soviet commandature, to be pro-russian if there's no point in being so.
But maybe you should pay more attention to what I say. I provide a variety of sources and don't ignore facts and numbers. And if you hate someone just because he disagrees with "Good America saves the world" policy, it's more of pride than of sense.
Frank Hipper: personally for you: Russians never ignored these contributions. But giving them over-importance is as senseless as saying: "Russia helped USA a lot by giving them deficite supplies, or by destroying the 1.000.000 Kwantun army". See? Don't give a fact more importance, than it deserves.

I was speaking of official histories in which no contributions are listed. Things, no doubt, have changed, but when the Murmansk convoys are ignored in official literature, as they were, a parallel is inescapable.

You think that past ignorance counts? Oh, easy. The Russian effort in war with the Reich was also minimalized during the Cold War. Does that mean we have to stick to this?
Of course not. The Murmansk convoys are really a great thing. I haven't enjoyed the PQ-17 thing, although. And the numbers still stay.

Both of you -and in this case Zhukov- is wrong.

While you overestimate the material help the US gave to the CCCP, Stash underestimate it. I'm not talking about direct numbers.
I'm talking about it's importance.

Although german forces were better trained and equipped at the start of Barbarossa, the whole campaign was futile and waste of time.
By the time the germans attacked the Soviet Union the fate of the Third Reich was sealed.

There were only one question. When will it be over?

That's where the Land-Lease program came in the picture. That speeded up the process very much.

...and of course other things as well.(Crippling the fuel production, the Ardennes offence etc.)

So I say these actions, battles, programs are significant but they were only additional nails in the Third Reich's coffin.

Stas Bush doesn't deserve the VI title relating his WW2 commentaries.

But he has some seriously strange concepts on the direction the U.S. is taking this war and it's aftermath, and is not overly rational about stating them.

Actually, the concepts of why US took the war do not matter for me much. I heard them leaders of Germany, France and Russia spoke of breaking the international law because "the changing of political regime is the exclusive right of the citizens of the country" (I quote that from Putin's speech). So this is the basic case. Oil and everything else is not so important.

I don't happen to think that Stas is a VI. He has strong opinions that he defends and puts forth but if that were enough to qualify as a VI I think we should ALL have that title. No VI is reserved for that special breed of Fucktard that just is too stupid to live. I say no to VI Stas Bush.
