Belgium prime minister Charles Michel has said Brussels remains on the highest alert level.
Speaking at a news conference, Charles Michel said the security lockdown in the Belgium capital would remain in place. Schools and the metro system are to reopen on Wednesday.
Belgium prosecutors have charged a fourth individual with terrorism offences, following raids in the country.
I cannot help but feel that the troops are acting more like a deterrent- no terrorist in his right mind is going to attack a city that's swarming with soldiers and APCs; if they're going to attack it's going to be some place not crawling with firepower. If they're really bent on hitting Brussels they'll just wait until the lockdown is lifted.
The idea, I think, is to conduct a series of raids to find these suspected terrorists - specifically Salah Abdeslam and company, who were involved in planning the attacks in Paris - before the lock-down is lifted. I guess the fear was that the same "cell" from Molenbeek in Brussels that coordinated the Paris attacks would launch a similar attack in Brussels, perhaps as a final act of desperation or something, detonating themselves somewhere in a public area before the authorities had a chance to engage them.
Personally, I hope Salah Abdeslam makes it back to Syria safely, and then ISIS kills him on the spot for failing to detonate his suicide belt. That would be a well deserved ending for this asshole.

Biggest security theater ever is what Burssels is on track to be, which is a real trick these days. Large scale lockdown, and keep announcing endings. That's just so amazingly logical.
