Will this comp run CnC: Generals?
2.8GHz or 3.06GHz Pentium 4
512 megs RAM
ATI Radeon 9000 128MB
That the comp I'm likely to get in two weeks (probably the 3.06 GHz one). Will a setup like that be able to run Command and Conquer: Generals? And at what detail level and speed?

[Blatant Jab]I don't know, I've heard some people say that AoM is significantly overrated...[/jab]ArmorPierce wrote:It looks good to me, however, I would stongly suggest you to switch over to AoM.
But seriously, AoM does kick ass.

I have a 1.53GHz Athlon XP [Palamino] with 512MB PC2100 RAM and an ATI Radeon 8500LE 128MB and it runs fine. You should be able to crank up the antialiasing levels compared to my machine, but you can turn on all the in-game eye-candy.Shinova wrote:2.8GHz or 3.06GHz Pentium 4

Still true...you can never have enough, if for nothing else it looks damn impressive(course if your OS doesn't use it...then yes it's a colassal waste)

For those doing video editing, you can easily work with gigabytes of data at a time. If you're doing modeling, that can suck up huge amounts of RAM as well (especially in CAD/CAM).
For the average user, 4GB is a stupidly large amount of RAM. For a lot of other fields, it's a serious issue (doubly so on x86 because of the way it handles the 2-4GB area).

Athlon XP 2200+ (Slightly overclocked to 1.87 - 1.9 GHz)
512 MB RAM
Rather primordial nVidia GeForce2 64 MB.
