I know, isn't it great? Reminds me of 2009.

Hopefully it will help Durkon overcome Durkula at a key moment.
Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
Or, depending on how honest Durkula is being about being a dark reflection of Durkon, make some fundamental changes to Durkons and thus Durkulas character and motivation in an enjoyable way that thoroughly screws somebody in an amusing manner.

Nice send off for Wrecan there given the origins of the character.
Is this Weapon of Legacy a real D&D thing?

Yeah, there was a sourcebook titled that near the end of 3.5e's publishing run.Crazedwraith wrote:Nice send off for Wrecan there given the origins of the character.

It's Rogue, not Rouge!

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
Legacy Weapons started showing up, IIRC in the Book of Weaboo Fitan Magic, AKA: Book of Nine Swords. One of my favorite 3.5 books, honestly.
Never underestimate the ingenuity and cruelty of the Irish.
Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
I'm fairly certain the Book of Weeaboo Fitan Magic is the Tome of Battle. Which happens to be one of my favourite 3.5 books.Highlord Laan wrote:Legacy Weapons started showing up, IIRC in the Book of Weaboo Fitan Magic, AKA: Book of Nine Swords. One of my favorite 3.5 books, honestly.
Edit: Never mind, I just found out they're the same book.

The consensus I remember hearing was that they were an okay concept that never really worked well mechanically, and that in practice they meant investing more character wealth for a weapon that you couldn't even use all of the powers from for most of the time you had it.

Poor guy. All that effort, and careful preparations, and he was robbed of his Sexy Shoeless God of War moment.

Oh yay. A strip shorehorned in to debunk fan theories.
Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
You have a very negative attitude about this comic, you know?Crazedwraith wrote:Oh yay. A strip shorehorned in to debunk fan theories.
I don't see anything shoehorned about it. It's a natural joke to make, given Elan.

"Roy gives the Order their explanation of what they're going to try to do next" is a very reasonable thing to take up a strip. This was also an opportunity for Roy and Belkar to finish up their conversation about Durkon.

Note how I didn't complain about that half/third of the strip.Simon_Jester wrote:"Roy gives the Order their explanation of what they're going to try to do next" is a very reasonable thing to take up a strip. Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
You do realize that Burlew has said many times that he actively avoids reading fan theories and speculation, right? Because I'm not seeing anything shoehorned about the Banjo bit. It's a natural joke to make off of a long-running gag.Crazedwraith wrote:

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
I am aware of that. But it's also a meta joke he's pulled a lot of times. He either has a certain awareness what the fans are saying or he's good a predicting what people will predict will happen.
You disagree? Great. I'm not suddenly going to find it funny because you've explained it.

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
Well, one
Two,
I'm not seeing any evidence that it's meta, since it's a joke that works regardless of what fans have said. It's the sort of thing Elan could be expected to bring up.Crazedwraith wrote:But it's also a meta joke he's pulled a lot of times.

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
Well you're just being too negative. Pirates wanting to be paid is a totally logical joke to make that derives from their known characteristics of being pirates.
