Which Party are YOU?

Post by meNNis »

OKAY.... was thinking about making this a poll originally, but seeing as how there are almost an infinate amount of political parties just in the US alone, and seeing as how there are plenty of people from other nations on our boards, i figured the poll wouldnt amount to shit. SO.... the big question.

Which political party do YOU affiliate with? If any. And reasons why you chose the party you did.

I know there are going to be flames especially with the 'why' part but please keep it to a minimum, flamers. You know who you are. Yes, and I mean You.

PS... if this has been done before, my deepest apologies. I did run a search....[/i]

I don't really like Republicans or Democrats, but since I will not vote for a Republican under any circumstances, I usually go straight ticket, unless I write in a name.

I'm wavering between Conservative and New Labour. Anything but the LibDems. (For those of you who haven't guessed, I'm British.)

I am essentially non-aligned. Considerng that both the republicans and the Dems have screwed me over. Though, I tend to support democratic candidates.

I'm registered as independent (no party).

Here we have the big two and just enough of the hard core Libertarian party
that they usually manage to get someone to run for most of the major state
and federal offices. I think the same guy's run for the senate or congress for as long as I can remember.

The Green party popped up a bit during the last presidential election but I don't recall seeing them during the elections last year.

Absolutely nothing.

I vote for whoever I think will do the best job, not for who is a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green, Marsian Rebulicrats, etc.

Anyone who votes solely along party lines is stupid, frankly. Heck, there are people in this world who would vote for Daffy Duck if he was a Democrat or a Republican.

That destroys the meaning of democracy.

The only thing bad about being non-aligned is in most cases you can't vote in the primaries. That means you get stuck with whoever the party faithful of the various parties decide on.

During the last presidential election a few states allowed people vote in primaries even if they weren't in that party but they could only vote in one primary. Of course the two main parties complained that the other parties were sending ringers in to sabotage their party.

The U.S. really needs to reform how we do elections.

I do not align myself with any political party, as I believe they are all corrupt and only look out for the voters insofar as they can get more votes/money/influence.

I think I registered as independent. I vote for who I feel like voting for. During the state elections last year I voted straight bottom-row, including Marijuana Reform.

Independent. Both major parties have too many bad ideas mixed in with their good ones for me to truly support either.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

I'm registered Republican because New Jersey has closed primaries, but I'm a libertarian by heart.
