What are you listening to? The Spring catalog...

Post by Drewcifer »

-- Living in Oblivion: Best of the 80's, Vols 1-4
Woo hoo, tons of great 80's music! Some hits I loved, some obscure gems I'd forgotten about, and some crap I thankfully missed the first time around.

-- Lucero Tennessee
One of the best albums of the year, imo. Achingly beautiful and heartfelt country-rock-soul music. Currently wearing out my cd player.

-- Radiohead OK Computer & Kid A
These guys defy description with their mixing of progressive / alternative / pop all into one. Sometimes overhyped as "the saviors of rock" but they've earned the press with a robust catalog of unique and instantly memorable albums. Every time I listen to Radiohead, I hear something new.

-- Ryan Adams Heartbreaker & Gold
A great singer/songwriter who is still growing into his talent. His third album featured the hit "New York, New York" and that song barley scratches the surface. We will be watching his career with great interest :)

Linkin Park - Meteora

So far, I mix a lot of my stuff. The cd's are mainly for the car or at work. Once I get home, I rip my fav tracks off the album and add em to the massive playlist.

I enjoy Radiohead, but my intense dislike of Thom Yorke complicates my listening experience.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

His voice doesn't bother me. His personality does. I know I should try to forget about that when I'm listening, but I can't.

Eminem rubs me the same way; really like his music, but can't stand him.

I just got The Soft Bullentin too. An amazing soundtrack for a movie that never existed. tFLs are probably one the best things to come out of Oklahoma City.

Hmm, I'll have to pick that one up next time I see it.

Evanescence ("Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal" specifically), Lucy Woodward "Dumb Girls"), Sting ("When We Dance"), The Cars ("Magic," "Drive" and "You Might Think"), lots of Dashboard Confessional, John Mayer, Indigo Girls & Tori Amos as per usual....oh, and a bunch of Eddie Izzard (on mp3) doing stand-up. :D

That's pretty much all the stuff that I listen to regularly at the moment.

Jimi Hendrix - Blue Wild Angel. Has a 22 minute version of "Machine Gun" with a 3 minute drum solo among other things that's just mindblowing.

Joe Satriani - "Crystal Planet", "Strange Beautiful Music"
I need a daily dosage of guitar goodness, and Satch gives that and more. I'm still amazed at how well the music flows with all the craziness in it.

QOTSA - Songs for the Deaf. Nice fun music with Dave Grohl going nuts on the drums.

Tea Party - "Edges of Twilight", "Triptych". Cool and different sounding songs with eastern and Indian influenced melodies.

And of course there's the usual Slayer, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Tori Amos, Chantal Kreviazuk, Sarah Slean stuff....

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either. :P

LOL :D

You know, you can put it in your sig, if you want to. Just stick "Post 666: Wed Mar 26, 2003 11:09 am" in there and then it will be remembered forever! In one of my saved sigs I have my 666th post stats, so I will always remember my true eeeeeeeeeeevilness.

Only if you want to, of course. :D
