He had gastro intestinal problems, IIRC.

Actually, I think his dislike of seafood was from his childhood.

If you actually read about him (such as his biographic by de Camp, I think), you'll find out he was somewhat eccentric, but normal person.

Not only that, but Lovecraft also liked ice cream with coffee flavour.... perhaps he tried at once to get Postum-flavoured ice cream???
