List of Executor class Star Destroyers
These are what I have so far:
Executor
Lusankya
Reaper
Intimidator
Brawl aka Iron Fist
Razor's Kiss
Knight Hammer
Terror
Aggressor
and for the Rebels: Guardian
I don't know if Guardian is a capture/rename if anyone could clarify? And if any one has more to list please do! I'm trying to make a list for reference.

I believe it was the Intimidator that was rechristened Pride of Yevetha before it was retaken by Imperial forces.
What about the SSD currently in service to the Empire during NJO, is that the Intimidator? Or is that the rumored "SSD Chimaera" Pellaeon renamed after his old ship.
Im willing to bet though that these EU Super Star Destroyers aren't as large and as powerful as the Executor, but still uber powerful compared to other warships.

I believe the name of the one that the Imperial Remnent built was called the Defiant. Remnent describes it as a Star Destroyer (though not giving a class) that they mounted the mose expensive and rarest equipment on (which would make sense if it was an SSD) and describe it shooting missiles at the Vong fleet (ISD 3s have torp launchers, SSDs have missile launchers)

No, the Chimera is still the Chimera. See my abve post about the SSD.What about the SSD currently in service to the Empire during NJO, is that the Intimidator? Or is that the rumored "SSD Chimaera" Pellaeon renamed after his old ship.
Why? They are all the same class, so they should roughly be the same. If anything these later made EU SSDs should be a bit stronger (just a tiny amount, nothing really appreciable) as there would be slightly more tech advancement (IE the fact that missiles have shrunk from Fett's size to being able to be carried by X wings, the weapons improvement mentioned in DE2 in reference to lasers)Im willing to bet though that these EU Super Star Destroyers aren't as large and as powerful as the Executor, but still uber powerful compared to other warships.

EU lengths aside what do you have to base that on? Or is it just your subjective opinion.Darth Fanboy wrote:Im willing to bet though that these EU Super Star Destroyers aren't as large and as powerful as the Executor, but still uber powerful compared to other warships.
It's also possible it's any number of battlecrusier or battleships designs that fall between ISDs and Executors. I doubt the Remanent would be building full blown Executors when they could get more use out of battlecruisers. Then again I could be wrong.Ender wrote:I believe the name of the one that the Imperial Remnent built was called the Defiant. Within this site is the "Complete List of Star Destroyer Names," up to a certain date, I can't be sure. A lot of them are from the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games. They indicate which SDs are SSDs, shouldn't be too hard to pick them all out.[/url]

I know Destiney's way said it was a SSD, I'm not sure if they said it was an Executor class or not. Probably was though, given the brain bug towards ship classes in the EU.Stormbringer wrote: It's also possible it's any number of battlecrusier or battleships designs that fall between ISDs and Executors. To help explain the 8 km fallacy of course.EU lengths aside what do you have to base that on? Or is it just your subjective opinion.
I only asked about an SSD Chimaera because it was mentioned in an earlier thread, thanks for clarification on that aspect. No, the Chimera is still the Chimera. See my abve post about the SSD.
This I am not so sure of, your point makes sense but i don't the Defiant is an SSD. Even though you're right about the missles/torpedo situation, don't expect an EU writer to care as much.I believe the name of the one that the Imperial Remnent built was called the Defiant. Maybe it was an Allegiance-class Heavy Star Destroyer?? (2.2 km long)Ender wrote:I believe the name of the one that the Imperial Remnent built was called the Defiant. The 8km long SSD does not exist. This was a mistake and has been continued to be perpetuated. Some will point out that the Lusankya, Iron Fist, Razors Kiss, and others were of the 8km flavor. That is quite litteraly impossible. Invariably most SSDs (except for a few which are usually designated as another class entirely) are compared to the Executor or the Lusankya. The Lusankya is said to be the sister of the Executor. We KNOW that the Executor is ~17km long. Therefor any ship directly compared to the Executor (or the Lusankya) is of the same class.
Now we have another little issue. Most EU sources do not follow the proper naming convention. The term SSD is basically something to describe really large star destroyers. There are Executor, Eclipse, and Sovereign class. There are some others that are less common or smaller (IE Alliegance). However all but one of these are referred to by their proper name. They are Eclipse or Sovereign class SSDs. However the Executor is almost always referred to simply as SSD. It would seem that the Executor being the first SSD and the most common SSD, it became synomimous (sp) with SSD. In other words whenever someone talks about an SSD but does not give a description to indicate exactly what class it is, it is most likely an Executor class. In mainy ways this is why we assume Star Destroyer usually means Imperial, not Victory.

Or a refitted and retrofitted ISD like the Chimera. There are any number of ship classes it could be.Simon H.Johansen wrote:Maybe it was an Allegiance-class Heavy Star Destroyer?? I have a question thats a wee bit off tipoc but it does invilve Super Star Destroyers. How come EU sources disagree so widely what happened to the Lusankya. One source, The Black Fleet Crisis, says that it was scrapped and used to repair other captured ISD's then other sources X-Wing - Isards Revenge and the NJO suggest that it was salvaged. Which is correct and more to the point what took them so bloody long to repair the thing?
