Nice work, though I must ask: What did you mean by an ILM challenge?

Basically ILM is running a Star Wars concept art challenge over at artstation.com. 3D-only people pretty much are going to get toasted, but I entered anyway :)

Hm. Well, good luck. You've got several Star Wars Original Trilogy properties on there anyways (Namely the TIE X1, LN, interceptor, and bomber, plus the Lambda shuttle and AT-AT, one of which was a very recent project), so I'm pretty sure you won't violate the rules regarding at least the one about how it can only come from the Original Trilogy.

Speaking of projects, though, any plans on finishing at the very least the Imperial LAAT and the Crusader-Class Corvette that's currently up on the site? I realize it will probably take a while for Anon Cruiser 3, X70, Coronet, and that Mon Cal mockup to be completed, so I won't bother asking about those, at least for now.

The Mantis looks awesome. Nicely done. I hope you make it into the finals for that competition.

WIP dump incoming.

I decided I needed something to give walkers tactical mobility. I designed this as a carryall that could take all non-super-heavy vehicles, or cargo containers, that could fold to pack tightly into the Chi-class dropship, and could independently walk under a shield.

Dude. If I could like that, I would. The last picture there is what really makes it all come together, man.

And btw, it can grapple all my walkers except the AT-SP, because that's ridiculous.

You've built a super-size version of that AT-TE transporter LAAT from AOTC. I like it, even if I have overloaded on acronyms for this reply.
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

Corrax Entry 7:17: So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again.

That is awesome, it both looks good and has a valid tactical purpose.

Nice work. BTW, might as well ask, is this ship based on a specific Mandalorian starfighter from Canon and/or Legends? Or did you make this up? Not that it really matters since it's definitely pretty good regardless.

It's totally made up. The timeframe of the design is ambiguous - could be old old old republic or old republic or OT.

The idea is that it's a fairly light fighter - the autoblasters are prime armament. Maybe something of a V-wing equivalent.

Wow the detail to that engine is amazing.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

The mandolorian yacth was the formal craft on the dutchess of Mandalore in the Clone Wars series, it had the same basic shape as your craft only it was a lot bigger.

Oh, duh - I actually half made it a while ago:

I assume the canopy lifts off? Or is there a hatch somewhere in the nose or stern?

Fantastic work so far mate :)
