So I finished the temporal war story arc. Firstly I like to commend Cryptic for making the time war part so "real." I even experienced my ship repeating time during a battle. :D Oh, that was server lag....ok.

I must admit the reveal of Noye as the envoy wasn't that surprising. It was either him or Daniels, which would have sucked. I did enjoy the final story even if it was just action, action and a bit of plot, unlike the setup with the Iconian arc. But the action was hard. Granted I am a bit rusty, but even by ship got destroyed by sheer weight of enemy ships, which hasn't happened for awhile.

This new temporal operative specialisation seems interesting. Still need lots of levels to fill it out (having filled out all slots in commander, intelligence, commando, pilot and strategist slots). But I guess I can just get the points doing duty officer and admiralty stuff. I do plan to replay parts of this arc, but using different star ships. Eventually I might be able to get that Khan design ship from the Kelvinverse. Its stats look wank.

It'd be a dildo with fat-ass warp nacelles, dude. :P

More seriously, I'm not sure if it's possible to create something along those lines with Federation ship parts. You could possibly do it with a Gorn ship. There's not many designs in Trek that have that look of a large elongated body with catamaran nacelles to the side.

What would it rate... mm... large carrier of some sort, I suppose, with lots of turret emplacements.
The closest thing I know of to that is the Risian Luxury Cruiser. Not very BSG-like though...

I'd forgotten there was a temporal specialisation for my characters. Because I'd continued gathering points even after all previous fields had been completed, I already had 30 points to spend

Ah yes, the infamous Love Boat. When that came out I immediately decided I was going to shoot for the previous year's model...

Yeah, that's a ship I wouldn't mind getting my hands on either, fond as I am of my old Sovereign (or some of my other ships).

As you can imagine, the Vengeance is proving extremely popular. Though like a lot of players I'm still holding out hope for a T6 Sovereign Assault Cruiser. The Imperial skin for that ship looks freaking badass! 8)

My launcher is hung up 'patching' but doesn't seem to be loading any files, and I can't cancel the 'patch,' so it's stuck and I can't play. Has anyone else had this problem today?

Press Ctrl-X when it's trying to patch and see what file it's getting hung up on. Then you can Google that and see if anyone has a workaround for it.

I used to have that happen sometimes but I can't remember how I got past it, it was a long time ago.

You can make as many as you have character slots for.

I got sick of repeating the whole Devidian story arc, the nerve tonic bit in particular is just so fucking stupid! :banghead: I guess you have to really love TOS to be able to get the most out of it.

At least the dil to Zen exchange ratio has finally dropped below the 400 mark, whether or not that's a result of the "turn over contraband" mission's timer being extended to 20h is as yet unknown.

Weirdly, in the last sale it was the first time I ever bought any uniforms from the store- I bought the Seven Of Nine and Counsellor Troi outfits, the former gets more use than the latter

Wasteland was worse than the Devidian stuff, IMO. That was only a few missions; Wasteland is a whole story arc...

Wasteland seems to suffer from a minor case of identity crisis, first you're fighting the orion, then the gorn and then the romulans while there is a common thread thru out this it's way too easy to forget about it. At least with the Devidian arc with all its faults the main enemy always remained the same and the story stayed somewhat focused on that enemy.

What always gets me about Wasteland is that my Federation captain didn't even get a stern look for effectively placing a town in neutral territory under martial law, violently ejecting the (few) survivors of it's criminal element, chasing them to their main holding, storming it, and massacring everyone inside it, bar patrons included. Then following it up with building a fleet of pirates, exchanging favors, launching a massive multi-squadron starship action in orbit and rounding it out with killing the kingpin because I could and pillaging information from his computer cores.

Mt Romulan was lighter handed than that.

those could possibly be (semi-)justified was "what I had to do" to get those Thalaron triggers out of the open market but thanks to that identity crisis, the captains just allow the remans to take those and go on 2 more missions on Nimbus III where the triggers are barely mentioned.

if I had to redesign that arc, I'd have the remans escaping with the triggers happen at end not at the middle (or at least have the escape be detected only at the end) leading on to the romulan mystery arc and giving a justification to our actions thru out the wasteland arc. Basically make recovering the Thalaron triggers be the sole focus of the arc, so you have something that would cause Federation captains to act heavy handed about it since we know from canon that Thalaron weapons are the ST equilevant of NBC weapons.

In that vein, I do absolutely love Admiral "Rip and Tear" T'Nae. Going to take the Imperial remnant a long time to recover from the brutal fucking she gives them and the Tal'Shiar over the course of The Romulan Mystery.

A vulcan flag officer that sees "Romulan territorial sovereignty" as some sort of hilarious joke and tells her new attack dog to effectively just go in and blow shit up in the name of peace, power and the Federation status quo. All done with the easy near monotone of vulcan logic. Of course, Admiral. It is the the most obvious and logical course of action to ensure that any future negations on the Romulans behalf is done with them on their knees.

I love it.

Tbh "empress" Sela attacked first, even though Sela lost the battle of Vulcan it was a clear act of war, it's perfectly logical to "remind" the RSE why there is a Neutral Zone to begin with. After all T'Nae might have had her reservations about the romulan motivations but she was on board for the peace negoations (which turned out to be a ploy to allow Sela to attack vulcan).

the result is that by the time of the iconian arc the RSE has for all intents and purposes ceased to exist as any signifigant power in the quadrant.

So now we have a temporal operative reputation quests. I pity the newbie who has to do all those reputation quests to max out their character. On another note, anyone thinks the gear from the temporal operative set is good? The wikia doesn't have any stats so all I can go on is with the description. The deflector array might be useful for my ships which are science base, but its hard to decide to get the marks to build it when no stats are available.

I finally finished hitting T5 in all the reps except for the temporal one. Talk about a grind, but now I can make the sponsorship tokens for my TOS toon. As for that I'm grinding the new ground queue for the marks. The wiki hasn't been updated with the gear, so the best we can do is this: https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star- ... reputation No numbers, but it looks heavily geared for sci toons, control expertise, particle gen, aux power, shield heals. Not sure if it beats out the dyson deflector.

Personally I'm more interested in the ground gear, since I'm looking to replace my romulan navy/na'kuhl 2 piece sets.

Yeah I am slowly grinding my only toon for the temporal reputation. I got enough marks to get enough reputation so I get to tier 5. Not enough if I want to get some of the gear, and here lies my dilemma. Do I grind some more or just get the temporal reputation powers only? Personally the only queue event that I haven't gotten too bored of yet is the Defend the Gorn miners battle. I find due to server lag some of the space battles are just not as fun.

From what I've gathered from eyeballing the stats from sources we got it's indeed sci heavy. My TOS is sci so I don't mind human though not vulcan and she's a scientist not a doctor (well not an MD anyway ;)).

also seems an AP set haven't seen those in a while, most new sets seemed to push tetryon (energy type I not particurally fond of).

the space battles are indeed too laggy to be enjoyble.

How do the Na'Kuhl and the new ground gear compares to Iconian reputation set? My toon has become a tank because I got the 3 equipment in the set and I upgraded the armour to epic and level 14. I could tank even more if I use the Commander or Commando specialisations, but I am currently using pilot and temporal operative instead.

Just to clarify, he tanks enough that when I have my away team I can run up and blast away knowing my crew are also blasting away and we can finish them off real quick. In PvE without the away team, I do die despite the tanking. But since due to the power of Q, er I mean the power of the temporal cold war I am just going to respawn anyway, so its faster to try and outflank them (either using my personal cloak equivalent ability or just running at top speed) and blast away, knowing I will take up out a disproportionate number of the enemy before they kill me.

The Na'kuhl personal shield has a really nifty 10 sec invulnerability mode that kicks in every minute when shields are 10% or below. Armor and weapon aren't anything to write home about, but the set bonuses include crit chance and severity and a clicky power. I know its not exactly the greatest at tanking compared with the sheer amt of hp and dmg you can get with the iconian set, but it's saved my ass a lot especially on the new ground queue.

So imo its good enough for a noob with barely any dil to upgrade ship weapons, much less ground gear.
