In pursuit of sending the map for Luke Skywalker to the Resistance, Poe Cameron lands his x-wing on Pollux IV, where he meets Apollo. Apollo decides to take Poe under his protection, whether Poe likes it or not. The Finalizer, in hot pursuit, arrives in orbit of the planet, where they are confronted by a giant green hand, which swiftly grabs the Finalizer.

The crew of Finalizer all die of some horrible plague; the first symptom is simply hallucination of a giant green hand.
Alternatively, the crew are fine as soon as they're administered basic antibiotics; bubonic plague isn't the scary to modern medicine. It depends on if you want Apollo to have equivalent results or equivalent mechanisms of action to his mythological depictions.

The Enterprise took out Apollo by blowing up his temple, right? That shouldn't be THAT hard for the Finalizer to handle.
The question is whether Kylo Ren and company will end up going down to the planet to meet Apollo, or whether they'll just scan for the source of the... giant green hand, execute a few salvos and move along.

A giant green hand wielded by a self-styled deity is not exactly a conventional weapon. I dare say it would warrant further investigation. Ren might even suspect that it is some previously unknown type of Force user.
