Splinter of the Mind's Eye

Alright, I have never read this book. By all passing hints and discussions it was deamed crap. I wasn't too far off the mark. It's actually a pretty good read, but you can definitely tell its an Alan Dean Foster book. The Approaching Storm doesn't seem much different from it. However, there are some intersting points, which most were early in the book and I will have to re read to bring up. In any case, while I was on the shitter, I came across and interesting passage. Now, in quasi canon sense, Lightsabres (namely Obi-Wan Kenobi's padawan sabre) don't work underwater. To what extent exactly I am not sure. However, Luke turns his sabre on and uses it underwater. This can be found here:

Paperback p191 mid page.

As has been said again and again. Lightsabers have quite a bit of variation from saber to saber. You can't generalize such specific issues onto all lightsabers.
