Help with my PC speakers
I just bought some Creative speakers for my computer. They consist of a sub woofer and four smaller speakers. I have stands for surround sound.
Here is my question. Are all four of the smaller speakers supposed to play at the same volume level? When they play music now, two of them go to full volume and the other two play at about half of the volume. Is this normal? Is it my sound card? I was planning to buy a new one anyway.
Anyone know what I am talking about?

It's only going mainly to the front channels because that's all that was recorded. I'm guessing the rear channels at half is bleed off.
Same thing happens with mine. No big deal, it's normal, I think.

Can be. if they have a 4.1 or 5.1 sound option. All four and the subwoofer are also used for DVDs.

I've got the same setup and it's supposed to work in surround sound with the card I have. I never get it to do that. I keep my R jack undone and I get equal sound to all four. I can't really tell you how to fix anything besides that since I could never get mine to work properly. This is with fucking with the sound props too

My speakers have several settings, actually:
Dolby Digital: 3D surround sound (4.1).
Pro-Logic: Similar to DD, but analogue, I think (I don't use it, since I don't have or need the hardware for it).
Stereo: Front left and right channels only, with maybe a little bleedoff to rear left and right.
"Stereo 2X" (soemthing like that): Both front and rear left and right channels are at equal levels. Kind of a "super stereo", if you will.
Quad: Mono sound, basically.
Subwoofer works on all five settings, I think. But I leave mine set to DD.
