Re: Star Wars: Rebels
Maul sounds like he has seriously lost the bubble there at the end. But, fair enough; this time, I'm rooting for Obi-Wan to not just fucking kill him, but dice his head into 4 bite-sized chunks, then incinerate them. NO MORE resurrect-because-I'm-so-kewl bullshit

Re: Star Wars: Rebels
Honestly I'd prefer Maul to not die, but be utterly broken. Have Obi-wan beat Maul not with a lightsaber but with words, have Maul's exit not be in badass lightsaber fight but sobbing alone because he's no longer the badass that kept the galaxy in fear but a pathetic old man who is clinging to past glories because those are all he has left, just dust and echos.
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

I'm placing my bet on the confrontation between the two we keep seeing in the previews being a dream/hallucination/whatever. No idea about the rest of the episode though

Re: Star Wars: Rebels
I assumed they were hacking it back and did that. Chopper had to get full access to their system and take control for them to grab him - the visual for him being hacked was electricity arcing all over the place and smoke for some reason. Hera says they have to be close, boosts power to their coms, hits a few more buttons, and we get an extremely similar visual to what it looked like when the Imperials took full control of Chopper, then their systems begin going nuts and the fuel cells are detonated.Rogue 9 wrote:So, this week's episode is streaming on Disney XD's site already, again.

Let's not think about that. Let's pretend this horrible episode has never happened and everyobe will be better off.

Here is a very low quality Zero Hour preview if that helps

Re: Star Wars: Rebels
I'd say that Maul is still clining (to a degree) on to the illusion that he is something important, the conclusion could be that Maul finally accepts his fate and moves on, mentally broken and old but still alive, to rebuild what it's left of his life without clining to past glories and hatreds.Ender wrote:Catch is that is pretty much already where his character already is though. Re: Star Wars: Rebels
Well, I haven't seen the episode (don't get Rebels where I am, so until I get around to getting the DVDs, I'm limited to Youtube clips and reading reviews), but I will point out, for what its worth, that R2 (an astromech at least thirty-plus years old at the time) was able to access Death Star files on a secret, highly important prisoner's location, and to some extent disable internal systems (shutting down the garbage masher).
Not quite the same, I'll grant you, but I'd take it as at least a partial precedent.

Yeah, that'd be like if a racist rapist reality tv show host and his team of conspiracy theory cranks won the presidency over a lifelong politician with more money, resources and support behind her. Or if the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Episode had a scene where the head tech arrogantly dismissed the odds of this going sour and standing orders to report. Him continuing to let pride go before the fall is completely plausible.

Hmmm... we can do all sorts of rationalization between what the droid "consciously" knows and what's "stored" in its databanks.... I mean, the information the droid knows and the information it knows and has in its thinking-drive *and* has inside its "easily externally accessible" drives.AMX wrote:Spoiler

The really hilarious thing is that AP-5 was right the entire time, about everything, from suspecting Chopper to his assertion that he could have accomplished the mission by himself.

No wonder Imperial facilities are so easily infiltrated. The scanner thingy which immediately cleared Snapebot not only fails to do the same for Chopper, but blares an alarm a short time later...and either nobody notices or they don't give a damn.
And as chopper said he was in the engine room (the logical place for one to notice a problem with the hyperdrive) why was everybody going to the cargo bay?

Don't forget too, the rebel/dumbass tendency to treat their droids as people, who would NEVER betray them. Ahem. I might like my droid, but I'm not fucking psychotic enough to not get that ultimately it's a MACHINE that can be reprogrammed and re-purposed for something else. It's only by act of writer, they aren't screwed completely. Dumb

Re: Star Wars: Rebels
I thought it was a pretty good episode right up until the strong comm signal blows a ship up thing. Actually painted the Imperials as having at least some capacity to carry out an intelligent action... although why they didn't just destroy or change the codes to Lothal is beyond me... the intel ship getting destroyed was pretty much the only way to resolve that but as eMeM said tracking it back to them and attacking would have been much more believable...
Why did Ezra not have high lightsaber on hand to simply cut the bars?
Also from the previous episode a single salvo from a Y Wing can totally cripple a fully shielded light cruiser! Either ion cannons are the new big thing or Imperial fighter policy is truly a terrible one.
That makes 3 Star Destroyers that have more or less been totalled by a single Rebel cell...

I got the impression the intel ship received the warning as it was flagged to them immediately and withheld it from the local base... the scanner didnt respond at all when Chopper went through it, only beeping later. Or as we know Imperial security truly is terrible it might just be that bad that they ignore what beeps they do get. The Empire should full well know that Snapebot and that shuttle are in rebel hands afterall but dont seem to be able to check serial numbers. The scanner thingy which immediately cleared Snapebot not only fails to do the same for Chopper, but blares an alarm a short time later...

Um, doesn't Star Wars have the capability to "reprogram" people to a degree? Frankly, I think success the rebels have had against the Imperial fleet is perfectly in line with General Tagge's worrisome evaluation of the threat they posed in ANH. The rebel fleet may not stand a good chance against the Empire through conventional means, but they're certainly vulnerable to guerrilla tactics.

I just remembered its actually 4! Only one of them was probably lost with all hands though - 40-50k imperial casualties for a couple dozen rebels is a pretty successful guerilla campaign.Galvatron wrote:The rebel fleet may not stand a good chance against the Empire through conventional means, but they're certainly vulnerable to guerrilla tactics.
