What comics do you read?
I assume a lot of you have a pull list, just curious- what's on it? What do you recommend?

Re: What comics do you read?
I used to read almost everything DC wise. The New 52 stopped that dead. Now I just read Green Arrow Rebirth and Rocketeer comics. Occasionally I dip my toe into Atomic Robo.
I like the generally uplifting comics with a sense of fun, hope, adventure, and if possible, some swashbuckling.

Re: What comics do you read?
Likewise- DC's recovered somewhat, but I'm still on isolated picking from them, and usually just in collections (like, Greg Rucka on Wondy can drag me back, but none that I get monthly).
I find I'm down to a few Marvel books. I liked most of their women-lead books recently, a lot of which have come to a close after solid runs (Squirrel Girl, Patsy Walker, Gwenpool), a few beyond that (Ultimates2), and I'll see what comes next after the current event season.
---
My non-big-two list is:
Montress, an incredibly pretty dark fantasy comic. Most beautiful book on the stands, and an interesting setting.
Transformers (Lost Light, Optimus Prime). IDW's done a really good job of making a rich world of things.
Saga. Space Opera, romance, how could I not?
Gold Digger by Fred Perry, an adventure book in a kitchen sink setting (there's SF, there's a connection to a fantasy world, the main focus is adventure archeology, sometimes it hits martial arts... last issue was a Thing homage). A bit cheesecakey at times but fun, I've been following it forever (seriously- it was the first book I started regularly picking up, and it's currently the longest running US comic run).
Uber: Invasion. World War 2 with supers. Really dark, but also the best-done war comic I've read, with an emphasis on the strategic and R&D sides (supers-as-weapons with flaws and weaknesses and development rather than supers-as-heroes).
Lazarus. Dystopian hundred-years-from-now comic by Rucka. Hyper-rich families divvied things up after the desolution wars, follows the genetically enhanced enforcer/'Lazarus' of one of them. Has been called 'SF game of thrones.' Really good.
Plenty I tradewait on too, like Astro City and Usagi Yojimbo, which are two consistently great books.

Re: What comics do you read?
I read a LOT of stuff.
Mostly because I work part time at a library still, and I get to read things for free.
I also trade wait for everything. So, I'm going to only do things that are currently publishing singles issues. I also am not including things I read, but do not directly follow (IE: I may use my library connections to get a copy, or just skim it in store).
DC:
Detective Comics - Cassandra Cain is one of my favorite characters. Nice to see her written well again.
Deathstroke - Far better than I expected it to be, especially with his new 'team'.
Gotham Academy - Its last issue came out today, but it's been a great series for what it is. It looks like it's a prep school mystery series, but in truth, it's something much more. Also, Batman: The Animated Series was a big influence on the visuals and the narrative and that's just keen!
New Super-Man - Unique Cultural perspectives are a thing I gravitate towards, and this take on superheroes is one of them on top of being well written.
Marvel:
All New Wolverine - First writer since to do something interesting with Laura since Christos Gage.
Black Panther - Interesting reinvigoration of the character.
Champions - I wish it was better, but I'm a sucker for teen superhero stuff. It works on a metaphor level so well . . . It has gotten better, but it had a rough start.
Hawkeye - Not as good as it was under Fraction and Aja, but I like what it's doing with Kate. It ain't' perfect, but I like it.
Immortal Iron Fist - While I dislike the last series done with this character by this writer, this builds up rather than tears down and thus, for me, is far more engaging.
Hulk - On one hand, I dislike what happened to She-Hulk recently, but I adore what this series is doing with the concept of treating Hulk like PTSD/Anxiety disorder. I got some bad anxiety myself, to I like the representation.
Monsters Unleashed - I'm a sucker for giant monsters, and this is like an early 90s Saturday Morning Cartoon in comic form.
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur - I came for Devil Dinosaur, I got a pretty darn decent series. But, again, this is one of my weaknesses.
Ms. Marvel - Ya know all the heaps of praise this series has gotten? It ain't hyperbole. I love the cultural perspective on it. It leads to many unexpected things.
Totally Awesome Hulk - Greg Pak writing his great OC as the new Hulk has as much depth as you hoped it would.
U.S. Avengers + Ultimates - Al Ewing, you crazy, continuity mad genius!
Image:
Black Magic - Greg Rucka writes urban fantasy. Need I say more?
Deadly Class - Has me on the edge of my seat.
Invincible - Superheroics with world building and lasting consequences? What the hell?!
Lazarus - Greg Rucka's amazingly, and frighteningly plausible sci-fi series.
Monstress - Amazing dark fantasy series. Rich, detailed world.
Rat Queens - Probably the second most accurate take on a D&D game from that world's perspective that I've seen (discounting Order of the Stick for meta-ness).
Darkhorse:
Empowered - "Sexy superhero comedy" is far deeper than it has any right to be. It really thinks its world through, and its characters are quite engaging.
Hellboy/BPRD - Monsters? Mythology? Yeah, I'm there.
Independent:
Atomic Robo - Yeah, it's all online now, but I still count it!
Courtney Crumrin - Kids version of the Dresden Files. It's pretty darn good.
Death Vigil - second trade is gonna come soon . . . Ish. perky goth death fights Cthulhu worshiping necromancers. written and drawn by Stiepan Sejik.
Dresden Files - Yeah, I'm a sucker for this series.
Princeless & Raven: the Pirate Princess - It's rare for a truly independent book to get so much traction it's gotten a spinoff, but this is a fun kids story that needed to be done eventually. I'm just glad it was done well.
Street Angel - A great, silly action series.
Tomboy - "Dark Magical Girl/Deconstruction" rarely gets this good. It's one part magical girl, one part Punisher. So gory, and so great.
Manga:
Devilman - THE ORIGINAL MANGA IS BEING RELEASED THIS YEAR IN ENGLISH LEGITLY! AAAAAH!
Delicious in Dungeon - Food Porn + D&D + Iron Chef (the monster you just killed is now dinner) = Great comedy series.

Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else!

Reviewing movies is a lot like Paleontology: The Evidence is there...but no one seems to agree upon it.

Re: What comics do you read?
Not a lot.
Used to read a lot of Tintin as a kid, and Calvin and Hobbs. Also vaguely recall reading some Captain Marvel (the DC one) and some Prince Valiant (both introduced to me by my dad, who read them as a kid, I believe).
These days, I occasionally read the Dresden Files graphic novels/comics, the Buffyverse comics (particularly Angel and Faith), and some Batman. Those are my main ones.
I tend to prefer superhero films and television to the ugly, convoluted, contradictory mess that is comics continuity.

BPRD is one that I get every volume, but it's been around so long I sometimes forget to put it on lists ^^
Speaking of Stjepan Sejic, his Sunstone is also one of the best romance books out. He's got a number of other small projects too, though Death Vigil is my fav. I'd describe it as urban fantasy Grim Reapers vs cultists with fantastic art.Death Vigil - second trade is gonna come soon . . .
